Hi,

For you perspective owners - I bought my 2014 SCREW new @ $500 off MSRP and picked it up a year ago. I drive it daily and 4 days a week commute 150 miles round trip. Here are some real world costs for the truck. Depreciation for buying used will be better, especially if you get mods paid for by the prior owner!

Fuel Mileage - 12.1 overall average - when I communte on freeway I tend to drive quickly - 80+ - dropping 10 mph adds 2 MPG in mileage. 2,500 miles towing around 8.5 MPG (7,500 lb boat).

Mod's - what make our truck ours! If I sold today and removed the mods might recover $4,000 - $5,000 of cost (I have stock beadlocks which I did not sell - also extended warranty could be turned in and generate 67% of cost recovery, or help with a sale).

Of the mods - paint and wheels add looks. 21" light looks cool, but i have only used about a dozen times. Deaver springs help for towing and offroad, but make the ride worse. Bump stops are good for off road.

Overall I love the truck and have enjoyed owning it. Given the mileage doesn't make a lot of sense to commute like I do, but I like being high up and have not yet pulled the trigger on a mileage commute car, like a Volkswagen GTI. May do so this year.

I see no downside to getting one of these trucks. The dealer service by the book is ridiculiously inexpensive - I do have a $215 30k servcie coming this week, but still this is the cheapest truck to operate I have owned by far.

Been offroading 1 time and towed toys to the Sand Dunes 3 times, so not much time spent offroad. But still would rather have this truck than any other I have owned in the past. Drives great!

If you are thinking about getting one you will not regret it!

I think I paid about $54,000.00. I don't remember.

Probably have spent about $3k to $4k on mods. Haven't kept track.

52k miles. 12.0 mpg avg. $3/gal average? $13k. Business expense.

I don't really care what it costs. It's all relative to my desire to own it. I'm sure I've easily paid the truck off with what I charge for it, but I don't care. It's what I want.

I've owned every type of truck there is, and this is my favorite. Don't plan on selling it for now, but when I do, I'm sure that I will never see anywhere close to what I have in it.

No one is making you go through anything. Just don't open the thread. Problem solved. Besides, it's fun watching Rick contradict and belittle everyone!!!! You know, shine-up his high school debating skills.....:baby::ROFLJest::baby:

You shut your pie hole

Truck = expensive
gas = expensive
mods = expensive

EVERYTHING RAPTOR RELATED IS EXPENSIVE

Nice summary.

I know insurance is different for everyone, but it is definitely party of the yearly cost. You may want to include it.
