Has anyone had issues with their highbeams not staying on? Or not being able to dim them?

I have a 2013 with the HID lights. I thought the issue might be with the switch or something inside the steering column. But the Stealerships says there's a shutter in the light housing itself that sticks (either up or down depending). He said I would have to replace both headlights at $1,000 a piece!

They won't even attempt to look at the lever on the column or try to troubleshoot it.

He said without replacing the lights they wouldn't know.

If that was the case, why can I make them come on by pulling on the stalk on the steering column?

Do you feel the detent when you pull the stalk all the way towards you? Or can you just pull it far enough to flash?

UPDATE: New factory column stalk costs $200. And that was the problem. Much better than the fucking dealership telling me I needed to spend $2,000 on two new headlight assemblies. **** them.
