Valve spring broke.

Had engine rebuilt rather than just replacing spring and piston as I was going to keep it.

Decided to get a 2019...things change.

Runs better than new. Quiet. No more lifter noise, ticks etc. Makes more power. MPG went from 11.1 to 12.7.

Go figure.

How did you get rid of the lifter noise? I would think if the engine was rebuilt with oem parts, the noise would persist.

The reason I ask is because I have owned three Gen 1’s and they all tick regardless of mileage (I bought all of them new).

I think more love went into the rebuild than what the factory provided.

The place I took it is supposed to be the best in the Bay Area....Clark’s.

My instructions were build it to stock specs.

It really runs great..I was surprised.
