Getting a used PCM is not going to cut it, there vin number encrypted to prevent theft.
You would need certified paper work that the vehicle was destroyed,
then bring the used PCM to a dealer to register it and wait for a new software to be written.
Probably going cost more in the end.
You don't have a buddy that's into working on cars, any simple OBDII reader will do.
In your first post you stated there aren't any codes, so I was assuming you plugged in a OBDII reader.
I wish I could help you more but your ******, you're gonna have to break down and bring it to the dealer.
