In May 2019 I installed a complete set of 2018 Raptor take off shocks on my 2014 Raptor. During my 160k routine maintenance I decided to take pics of the suspension to see if I could spot any failures after 40k miles on the Gen 2 shocks. I'm posting the pics on here to see if anyone else with more expertise than me spots any problem areas.

hello, same installation of gen 2 absorber in my 2011 raptor , on November 2019, and for more than 15000km no particular worries on the front shock absorbers, apart from a front right boot which has let go, and I feel a decrease in closing on the rear shock absorbers.
within a month I will put my original fox back after having done the maintenance of the shock absorbers, and take advantage of putting eibach on the front, and icon leaf on the back.
just another question , at 100000km , have you proceeded to replace certain wear parts or as a preventive?

We bought a 2010 that had Gen 2 shocks put on a few months before we bought it, also had new CV shafts around the same time. We received the truck with a torn CV seal and the truck rode like crap, waaay too stiff. Found 4 good used Gen 1 shocks and replaced the shaft along with new sway bar links. It's so nice now! And back to original height. I figure being 2" higher in the front probably wrecked the CV shaft seal. Maybe the IWE is shot and front is spinning all the time. That's the next thing to look into.

The shocks all look good, I mean REAL good! The only thing you would see is oil leaking, damage, or maybe a little bushing hanging out of it was wrecked. The biggest thing is, how do they feel? That's the biggest way to tell.

I did not see anything myself other than a bit of oil on one of the tie rod boots, power steering likely suspect. Truck rides and drives good and I would not hesitate to drive it about anywhere. I'll be driving it to San Antonio this next week.

What all did you do to run gen 2 in the front. I was told you can't fit them and that the CV's would need to be removed. Are you using gen 1 spring and top hat?

I answered this in PM conversation but I'll also respond in this thread. The answer is yes, Gen1 Raptor spring, spring hat and angle wedges.
