    Hey Guys,
Need a little advice. Id really like to get 18s for my 2019. Ive seen that 9" wide wheels with a +12 offset works all day long, no issues. But I saw a post in a thread where someone stated that his tire shop wouldnt mount his 17x9.5 +12s because it was too close on the inside. Can anyone shed some light on this? Is that 1/4" more that significant? TIA.

    let's do the math.

OEM wheel width is 8.5 at +34mm

your wheels is 9.5" at +12mm

    34-12=22mm

So your wheel is pushed out 22mm which is 0.866142 inches

But because your wheel is one inch wider than OEM, you have to add .5" back into offset on the inner and outer of the wheel.

adding .5 inches back to the inner part of the wheel is the same as adding 12.7mm.

based on the math above, you should be fine as you moved out 22mm via offset but only 12.7 back due to a wider wheel. You should be fine.

I hope the above makes sense

It was my understanding that there would be no math questions here. Especially story problems.

I think I gotcha. I am in a similar boat, I am going for a 17x9.5 +6mm wheel on my stock tires and suspension. So my understanding is because of the wider wheel, it actually causes a higher offset? I just want to make sure im not rubbing at full lock.

I think at +6 offset you should not rub.

Ok thanks! I was just hesitant full inch of width the wheel has with the +6. Appreciate it!
