Something unexpected at Bonny ville. You camera girl disappears really fast. Now how do I find her in this vast "salt". No tracks you can see. land marks 30-40 miles away. Who would think you could get lost out there? Made the "drive by" quite a challenge. Sure did not want an "mistakes" at that speed. Pre run really helped.
I freaked myself out a little at Bonneville when I was at the Raptor school. You get out really far and it's a little hard to tell where you left from! It was an overcast day so you couldn't keep track with the sun angles. It reminded me a lot of how the same thing happens when you launch a boat, you need to take a good look around as you're leaving, or you might be really confused when you are coming back in.

Have you ever been there, if not you should put it on your list ;)

Twice, once in July maybe 2 years ago when I hit Sequoia, Josha Tree, Zion, and Death Valley in one trip and then this past November when I also did the Mojave Preserve. It's beautiful and much more varied then I thought it would be before going. I intend to go a third time. I want to see the Racetrack but the first time I was in a vehicle that wouldn't do it (rental Pathfinder) and this year it was off limits due to flood damage on the roads and trails.

I hope the damage is repaired from some mfing azzzhole that went out onto the Racetrack and did donuts:mad::mad:
I lived in Vegas for almost 12 yrs b4 I went the first time. I thought WTH, just some more God forsaken Desert?
It truly is quite Amazing. On the same day I was able to go up over 10k feet and then to -230 feet! It should be on everyone’s list, especially if you like to get your Raptor Dirty. Not a place to Fuxk around in the summer. Go unprepared, prepare to die a slow hot miserable death…
