FINALLY got a TRUE, removable towing solution..(see pics)

Congrats on the upgrade. Glad you found this post. Just FYI....I called Fox at one point and asked if the shocks would be damaged at all if I released all the pressure and just left them on when off-roading. They said no, it won’t cause any damage to the shocks. After that I pretty much stopped...

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Yeah he'll still do it. Totally worth it if you ask me No, there are still welders everywhere ;-) If you can find one that has expertises in Offroad racing and suspension maybe they can do it? Thaty's correct. I know I wouldn't want someone taking all...

GEN 2 Air bags for towing??

Yeah man, look up a few posts and follow the link there. It’s by far the best solution you’ll find. I’ve had airbags before and if you’ve ever used them you know that you get more of a rebound/bounce effect than absorption. This shock setup does the same thing (levels you out) but keeps the...

FINALLY got a TRUE, removable towing solution..(see pics)

Hey sorry for the delayed response. Wasn’t me. We sold the airstream and started a 4wd sprinter van build so likely won’t be towing any time soon. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

For whatever reason I’m not always getting notifications on new posts to this thread. We did buy a 4wd sprinter which is being built out, but still also have the raptor. [emoji1360] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

FINALLY got a TRUE, removable towing solution..(see pics)

Yeah that’s pricey but I’m sure was money well spent. I only had one instance where I wish I had bigger brakes and that was once where we were coming into Death Valley. There’s a really steep grade when coming into The Valley itself that normally isn’t an issue, but throw in a 40mph tailwind to...

FINALLY got a TRUE, removable towing solution..(see pics)

Not a thing and have had zero issues. That includes towing through mountain ranges and places like Death Valley in 100°+ weather. If you’re going to address anything it’s maybe braking, but even that was serviceable. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Never thought I'd find a better one than what I had.....

Haha....yeah that's Georgie. He's pretty awesome. More pics of him on my website and here: @georgiepupgram

Yeah those are a must unfortunately. I think the struts they come with are what they’d use for just the cover without the racks or baskets/carriers. Those 90 lb struts will hold two bikes up so you should be ok. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

This removes in about a minute. I’ve done it’s hard to imagine it being any easier. Direct from their website: “The RidgeLander removes in minutes. Simply unscrew the spindle from the bracket and lift the cover off. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Cool! Enjoy it. Mine has worked out great for me. Only thing I would recommend is swapping out the gas struts. It comes with 45lb struts. I swapped them out for 90lb struts. Go to www.liftsupportsdepot.com and search for these part numbers. They’re direct replacements. I paid something like...

FINALLY got a TRUE, removable towing solution..(see pics)

He’s right, it really depends on how often you need it and a few other things but unless you get some long ass trailer where you can set the car well over its axles, there’s going to be a good bit of tongue/hitch weight. Remember, I’m using it for a trailer with a pre-weight-distribution-hitch...

I was actually referring to the ride when ON the bump stops. I know they’re non-existent when not towing. Can you post a picture of how your truck sits with the trailer hitched up (with your setup)? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

FINALLY got a TRUE, removable towing solution..(see pics)

I agree licensing would be tough and ultimately not worth it. Others can do this, but it would be hard for me to trust just anyone with my trucks. Izzy can build a desert race truck from beginning to end, and I mean from the cage, to the gas tank......everything. So for me it was a no brainer to...

FINALLY got a TRUE, removable towing solution..(see pics)

Let me start by saying I’m not affiliated with Izzy. I don’t make any money off this and only started this to help people that were in the same situation as me.....wanting a way to tow safely, without sacrificing the offroad capability of the truck. This of course eliminated airbags since that...

FINALLY got a TRUE, removable towing solution..(see pics)

Let me just remind you of why it’s well worth the money to me and others that have done this. This first picture shows how my truck would sit/drive if towing stock. Think about what this will do to the shock to be driven, while compressed, for hundreds of miles at a time (saw that guy coming...

Two things: 1. If you’re capable enough to weld the brackets on yourself then you should be capable enough to make the brackets yourself. If you’re not, then you pay for someone else’s expertise, no? I can buy the parts to make a MacBook Pro for probably $300, but guess what? I have no...

Yeah, not the simple man. I was there when he did the work on mine and it’s pretty labor intensive. Trust me when I tell you (what he also told you) that It’s not something he can mail and just bolt on. Not by a long shot. nit sure if he told you, but after he did mine he worked towards putting...

FINALLY got a TRUE, removable towing solution..(see pics)

Long story short, I had airbags as a temporary solution. They work for towing but otherwise, because they aren’t removable (like my setup is) it will REALLY limit your wheel travel and completely defeats the purpose of owning a raptor. It sounds like you wouldn’t have a ton of tongue weight and...
