Oil change impact on Transmission Temp.

Ruger, there should be hoses running from the trans cooler to the left side radiator tank. (At least the service manual says there is. Have not had a chance to check out a 6.2L up close for this) If so, the trans fluid is passed through an internal cooler in the radiator, hence the oil-to-water...

Raptor Hood Decal - How Difficult to Install?

I wouldn't pay to have it done, it is a piece of cake. As someone mentioned before, a light amount of dish soap in a spray bottle with water, wet the suface down thouroughly and lay the decal on the hood. You will find that the decal slips and slides wherever you want it, so positioning is...

Oil change impact on Transmission Temp.

Fellas, it is possible that the trans is operating a little cooler due to engine operating temp as the oil-to-water cooler is engine operating temp. If the engine is operating at 10 to 15 degrees cooler due to the mobil 1 (speculation only) then it is possible that the trans is benefitting...

    Brakes

Good question jesse, I will have to check. I know what it is from reading and have been asked several times what it is, but have not yet removed one. Not sure if it is an integral part of the bolt or not. FSM

    Public apology

I would just like eveyone here at FRF to know that I apologize for engaging in a less than professional debate that included making snide and spiteful comments toward Truck Wolf, a fellow FRF member for expressing a concern that was very meaningful to him. I took his comments personally and I...

    That Flutter sound

The pre-muffler will at times act like a trap for moisture. The moisture will eventually evaporate as the exhuast gets hotter. The condensation occurs after the engine is shut down and the exhuast cools leaving it set there until the next start-up. FSM

A Ford tech's take on "THE CLUNK" (THE ONE and ONLY CLUNK THREAD)

Agreed A.I.I.,...... I regret engaging in such childish antics as I feared I would. Better judgement will, in the future, be excercised. :patriot: FSM P.S. I hope that was a cohesive sentence. (Son-ofa-Beotch, there I go again!) P.P.S. I have been monitoring broadcast messages...

    That Flutter sound

First Truck, I would not plug the hole as this is there to allow normal condensation in the exhaust sytem to drain. Better to drain and live with a flutter than to rust rot the exhaust system IMO. FSM

Really?? Wolf, you should be Yo-Yo Wolf, First you're pissed, then you're happy, then you're pissed, etc. etc. I think you should wait to be so exstatic until the fix actually fixes your concern. It would save us all some grief. It is not what you have to say, it is how you say it at times...

    Cylinder 8 misfire and more...

whisler, not to be condescending, but I am very skeptical that a chaffed wire to a O2 sensor is causing a misfire code. I am not sure what model year your vehicle is, but O2 sensors have not been used for direct fuel delivery since early to mid 90's. They are merely feedback sensors to the PCM...

    Cylinder 8 misfire and more...

R62, P0300 is a random misfire and it simply means that the misfire monitor cannot identify a specific cylinder. Tunes like you mention are often a cause of a random misfire. Things like RFI and MAF readings that are skewed are also common culprits. :waytogo: FSM

    Intake question

jesse, don't get me wrong, I am not saying that this did not work for you. I am glad it did and am in no way trying to discredit your claims. I just find it interesting. I am right now averaging 17.4 mpg in all driving conditions. In the winter with cold warm-ups, that drops to about 14.8. I...

    Intake question

jesse claims to have gained mpg, but the interesting part is that the numbers he is posting as gains with his 5.4L are identical to the numbers I get with my 5.4L and the stock intake. I am not sure why he wasn't getting the mpg's prior to his mod?? FSM

How many miles do you have and what problems have you had?

JP7, it does not surprise me that the IWE's (integrated Wheel Ends) would clunk or pop in the condition you describe above. Shifting into 4WD while sitting still and with the wheels turned. That, to me would be normal. The comment you made above about it clunking when in 4WD and moving from...
