How can you tell the difference between the Scab and Screw rear shocks?
anyone know the part numbers and where they are located?
I bought a spare rear shock a couple years ago and don't know if its correct for my truck. I have a Scab.
Rusting Raptor Rocker Panels update. … 3 months later..
Well while cleaning my truck a couple days ago I found that the rust that was supposed to be repaired is coming back already, it’s only been 3 MONTHS…WTF ?
I first noticed some rust stains and bubbles on the passenger side by the rear...
Raptor rusting rocker panels
So today I finally got my truck back. A different repair than I was expecting. I assumed that Ford had approved replacement of the rocker panels, but they just approved repair of the rusted areas, without specifying R/R rocker panels. Well we all know about that...
+1
I got the Line-X in shiny black AND had the wheel wells sprayed at the same time. My truck is white and I didn't like the white inside wheel wells.
Then I put a heavy rubber bed liner on top of that. It protects the line-x and I have hauled bags of concrete, brick and block and many...
UPDATE..
Well, the local Ford dealer took the pictures and submitted them.
and they called to say that the repair has been APPROVED.
Being the proverbial doubting Thomas, I will feel better about it when I see it happen, but I have an appointment with their body shop next Monday...
Sent PM at 12:14pm....... at 1:30pm a representative called me at home to ask about the particulars. then while I was on hold he contacted the dealership and connected me with them to set up an appointment to have the pictures taken... tomorrow .
So there are people at Ford that know what...
Well the really bad news, In addition to no help from Ford, is that these trucks are so new that nobody is making replacement rocker panels for them yet. I have done a couple hour search on the web and come up with nothing.
I sent an email to one company asking about when they will start...
My 2010 Raptor is rusting at the rocker panels and Ford doesn't want to even look at it unless you can see the perforation...
I have been to two dealers and called customer service with the same result. they won't even take pictures.
the rust is in between the layers of metal at the rocker...
So yesterday I'm toolin up I-90 going by Erie goin' to pick-up my bagger ( had serious motor work done ) and I see coming towards me a GREEN Raptor !!!
:shock1:
He was towing a fishing boat...
don't think Ford offers Green, and its a different green kind of like a mint green.... anybody...
I did the same thing, They took a couple pictures.... they weren't interested in my pictures though... said they had to take their own pictures. then just reached back there with a little camera and took a few shots.
Sounds a little pornographic.... Wonder what Freud woud have thought
After closer inspection it seem that the shocks were just sprayed with a clear coat and the decals put on top. on the worse corroded spots you can take your thumbnail and scrap the clearcoat right off.
Two trips to OBX 2010,2011 driving on the beach and both times I hit the car wash before I left for home to clean the underside ( and I just like driving a clean vehicle, we do Represent, ) I did avoid the hard packed sand near the water line... no fun in that..
Also I run some of usual...
Welcome...
There are a bunch of us that remember the wait.
Saw my first Raptor at an auto show in Feb 2009, but couldn't put my order in until Dec 2009 ( waiting for 6.2 ) then waited some more till it finally was built and delivered in May 2010....
stick around and check in often you...
Corrosion on Rear FOX shocks
Anybody having this problem??
it looks like it has gotten under the plastic coating although I can't detect damage to the coating. I think it may have come in from the top.
mine are starting to look pretty bad, I wash them every time I wash the truck, and...
Welcome dtcos
I see it didn't take long to find us....
I have a picture for you...Hope you don't mind
I saw dtcos down at OBX this week, although we didn't get to blast down the sand together we did BS a bit.
imagine my suprise... I see another Raptor coming down from Corolla...
My door keypad went bad, 9/0 button quit........ took it in and its an order part. got to take it back in a couple days for the repair.
checked the other forums and it seems this is not an uncommon problem.
I really like the feature though.
I'll probably get one... it's worth the price to me. I never do anything with the next buyer in mind, its too far down the road. This is my daily driver and i'll probably put 200K+ miles on it. but I like it and the certificate will go on the wall in my office, along with other favorite pictures...
