The RCI skids make the originals look like tinfoil! These new skids are 10 gauge steel and are hefty! I ran RCI products on my 4Runner and have no doubt in their ability to perform!
Cleaned up the engine bay a bit. Installed the billet dressup cap kit from Fathouse Performance as well as their aluminum coolant tank. Also installed the JLT catch can I've had lying around for awhile.
Had the rear diff completely rebuilt yesterday. New bearings, gears and seals. The differential shop said the carrier bearing was near gone allowing the gears to move side to side. I didn't realize how much noise it was producing until I had it repaired. Truck is near silent now. The shop...
Installed new SDHQ Kevlar brake lines front and back. Leaps and bounds nicer than the stock rubber lines.
I also flushed the entire brake fluid system with Motul RBF 600 Racing fluid when I bled the brakes.
Installed the Full Race cooling kit. The kit comes with a radiator and intercooler. Their radiator is almost twice as thick as stock!
Also did their transmission cooler which like the radiator, is larger.
While I had all this out of the truck, it was a great time to install the SPD 180°...
Met with the staff at RCI Offroad in Loveland, Colorado.
They make a complete skid setup for our trucks to include a bed rack and a rear differential skid. We’ll be slowly adding their stuff to the rig.
Toured the facility and it’s all made right here in Colorado! From bare sheets of metal...
Got the back wall of the truck covered in sound deadening then reinstalled the interior. Noticeable difference off the bat but will test the actual decibels here shortly!
Added some of our sponsors logos from Drew’s Decals as well.
Gutted the interior and installed SecondSkin Damplifier then their Luxury Liner Pro. Paired together, they usually see a 10-15db reduction in noise. I used a sound meter for the before noise, will test after tomorrow.
Haven't posted in awhile so here's the catch up post:
-Stainless Works catted downpipes
-Stainless Works cat-back exhaust
-Mickey Thompson Baja Boss A/Ts
-Vorsteiner Offroad VR-601BL
-SVC Offroad Mojave Bumper
And a few smaller things here and there.
Posting incase someone else runs across this in the future.
Disconnected the fuel line and inspecting the o-ring showed no rolling of the seal or damage that was visible. Reconnected the line and all is good now. No fuel leakage.
So this morning I discovered a huge fuel leak on the mechanical fuel pump on the engine. One of the connections is just shooting gas out. Not sure how that happened.
Just finished installing the Stainless Works downpipes and cat-back exhaust and have an interesting issue!
The truck will absolutely stink of gas inside the cab on a cold start. I had an exhaust shop check for exhaust leaks and all is good there. I do occasionally get the P0420/P0430 codes for...
I don't think I totaled the ram. His front steel bumper took much of the force along with the trim above the bumper. Looked to be mostly cosmetic.
My truck having the grille/intercooler get pushed back did a lot of damage.
Ran into my neighbor at a blind corner down the street from my house. Hit his Ram 1500 head on and caused some damaged to my 2018.
-Intercooler was pushed back bending the transmission cooler and radiator.
-Grille is toast, cracked in several spots.
-Headlight trims lost most of their clips...
That’s interesting! We’re at roughly 6,700ft here in Colorado. What concerns me the most is the difference in sides. The passenger side being almost double what the drivers side is which is where I’m having issues.
Started to troubleshoot the IWE today after some road noise on my last road trip. Put 1500 miles on the truck and couldn’t get past the noise.
Replaced the IWE actuator on drivers side a few months ago. IWE on both driver and passenger holds vacuum around 20in applied and doesn’t drop. I then...
Are you in the Colorado Ford Raptors Owner group? There have been a few posts about stolen trucks, especially at DIA. If you park at the airport, almost a guarantee your truck will be gone when you return.
I have the Cobb Accessport and there's an anti-theft tune you can flash. I think it...
