Whippled for a week - First thoughts

UPDATE: Just returned from a little trip to Mid-Ohio. As my 450 has some turbo issues, I chose to pull a car trailer with the Whipple Raptor. Normal pulling conditions were great. Very little SC whine running 65-75 mph. On ramps, hills and heavy acceleration conditions.... AWESOME! Never...

Whippled for a week - First thoughts

Yeah, the Raptor is a truck! No Scuderia M16 or 458 (yet) just an ordinary '07 F1 430 spider, but I like it! The R8 v10 is the top performer of the group.

    Whipple vs. Roush

Under heavy heavy acceleration, the whipple is loud. Under heavy acceleration, it is still fairly noticeable inside the cab. Under normal driving, you could have a passenger that never knows you have it in there. My #1 concern was the noise level being too loud. Mine is not, Im pleased.

    Whipple vs. Roush

I surely do not know all the particulars as stated from MTF, but I do know that my Whipple is all that I was hoping it would be.... and more! Anyone considering whipple in NE Ohio area is also welcome to pm me, no problem showing it in person. However, if you don't pull up in a raptor...

Whippled for a week - First thoughts

Thanks guys, I just wanted to make a post and address a lot of the questions that I had when I was considering the whipple. There are a lot of problematic posts recently, and I think is because of other variables. Wife still gets more tickets in her mini van! Foot drops every time im in...

    Whipple's 6.2L 650hp Raptor system

hmmm, rear springs.... Makes sense, under hard acceleration I'm noticing the front of the truck is light (floating) all the way up to about 90 mph. Where is the post about springs, I'll check it out. Combined with the borla sport cat back, Sound is tough on the highway when cruising at 75-80...

    Whipple's 6.2L 650hp Raptor system

This is the way that every Raptor should be built. Very NICE... Very drivable, great sound levels, great power! I am happy with the fact that you can drive it easy (normal) an you hardly notice its even installed. Getting used to getting the power put down form a stop, even with a little...

    Whipple's 6.2L 650hp Raptor system

Drive in RAIN, are you nuts! Just kidding.... Rich has done some CRAZY projects and built several trucks for sema, and been on the cover of truckin many times. His work is the best I've seen in at least a 200 mile radius. I believe him when he says this is a very nicely put together kit! He...

    Whipple's 6.2L 650hp Raptor system

The great thing with this is that anyone in the future will see some of the little tips and tricks and problem areas like the rear bolt. Now come on ford racing, lets get the ECU back in our hands! We're waiting... crappy iphone pic

    Whipple's 6.2L 650hp Raptor system

Thanks MTF, Actually, the instructions said to use a little lube on that o ring. After my guy did that and looked again, he greased the heck out of it and then was very attentive to the o ring. Its a tight fit. Thanks to this forum, that was a know issue when he was installing.

    Whipple's 6.2L 650hp Raptor system

Install going very well... well... well... Not really, little hickup with lost ECU, Sent out a unit that was A+ condition (truck has 2500 miles) What was received back today was NOT my ECU! Maybe Monday it'll be sorted out. On another note. The quality of the kit was reported back to me as...

    Whipple's 6.2L 650hp Raptor system

Dropped off the truck today for the Whipple install! Rich at AutoIllustions in pittsburgh pa. is doing the job. Unboxed the charger and the parts box... There is a lot of SH!T in that box! Adding a borla cat back sport system, and a hand full of other stuff while there! Not trying to...

    Whipple price increase

I would guess that if Everyone chooses not to buy them any longer, the price will go back down... Seeing that it would cost me more to build this kit myself in my garage, and it would most likely not work nearly as well, I am thankful to have the opportunity to choose to purchase one of these...

    Whipple's 6.2L 650hp Raptor system

Great review thanks for mentioning the fact that its still pretty quiet with normal driving. I'm happy with the fact that this is the rout I have chosen to go with mine, Whipple and otherwise stock. I'm not feeling the need or desire to try to chase every additional power making option...

    Whipple's 6.2L 650hp Raptor system

Thanks Mr Whipple... Not vague at all. System is ordered! While I'm not planning any further engine/exhaust mods at this time. If I decide to do a cat back system down the road, would this be something that would require a new "tune"? I'm guessing no, but I'd rather not guess. I...

    Whipple's 6.2L 650hp Raptor system

Thanks MTF for the edit, thats the answer I was looking for.... I was told about the long headers and exhaust but actually prefer supercharger on the otherwise stock setup to keep it simple. Some shops will look for add ons, make a few more bucks, to give the MOST HP they can, but create a more...
