V8 has more power and has to use all 4 tires to put torque on ground. V6 doesn’t and uses 2wd to reduce powertrain loss. 4A on dry road is totally fine as long as you don’t go super tight turn.
Unless at stop light I will use 2wd on R for sport mode. 4A has tons of torque steering due to...
1. R can do 12 flat quarter time if launched properly. Feel they dragged much above sea level.
2. CT definitely has more power than advertised. R1T and Hummer SUT both lost without a big difference than R and with more hp.
3. No surprise to see R takes longer to stop. Actually Gen 3 Raptor is...
Previous rumors said 23 is the last MY for TRX, but it turns out not to be the case. Finger crossed on statement like “24 is the last MY”. Maybe MY25 TRX will receive a refresh? If ford keeps R then TRX must be here to compete and vice versa. As for hellcat challengers, they are overdue for an...
Why is R bouncing back and forth after launch even with stock suspension? Is that because the tire constantly gets and then loses traction? I never feel that during launch with stock BFG though.
1. Sunroof and tailgate are of a package, so having none of them is just lack of that package.
2. Solid rock guard is standard on all Gen 3s. Replacing them with electronic-deployed version may not be a wise choice as off-roading will spread gravels on the paint without the running board...
Agree. But For me R is a perfect utility with speed, marshmallow ride on pot hole, capacity for hauling and of course appearance and interior (though none of them are best, but very descent). The only down side is handling, but definitely much better than a stock Tacoma. I once rode in GT 5.0...
Just realized TRX can launched at max ~2000 rpm which Raptor (R) can do as well. Given R is at least 300lbs lighter and 2hp lower than TRX, why were quarter mile results so close (12.5 / 12.7)? Also TRX full time AWD should also reduce performance in the later phase. Is the Ford 10-speed so bad...
I’ve talked with Ford and see if they could buy back. My dealer pull the cab from the frame for resealing, which brought me lots of concerns. It’s unnecessary.
Hope they would buy back. But sadly if the repair fixed issue (though I highly doubt given they let the local dealer rebuild the truck/engine), then the truck may not qualify for a Lemon.
Interesting. Not sure why my dealer did it for a month, though I saw a blue GT500 stayed there even longer than my truck, but I’m not sure if it’s for the same CSP repair. I saw the loaner car rental bill exceeds $1000 for them when I picked up my truck.
The advisor showed me the photos taken when repairing. Basically the truck cab is pulled up from the frame and most engine parts were torn apart. In some sense the engine was rebuilt. Given these repairs and chance to lemon the truck?
