I had to pressure wash and then washed everything good. Then sanded with I think 320 and degreased and washed again. Didn’t take to long and a good cheap project.
Finally sprayed some bed liner in my rear fender wells this weekend. Doesn’t look great since it was from a spray can but definitely a better look than stock.
Finished installing new to me front and rear shocks. Already posted about the rear ones but the fronts are done now. They have the Gieser springs and on mid perch. Rides much better now and raised the front quite a bit. The front sits at 43.5 inches and the back is at 43. Almost level but still...
Installed the front shocks today and everything has gone pretty smooth. Both sides are in and everything is torqued down except one bolt. The driver side bolt that goes through the top of the shock housing seems to be broken. When I spin the nut the bolt spins with it. Any suggestions?
Installed my new to me rear shocks. Big difference in ride quality as the originals had about 130,000 miles and were completely shot. Will attempt to do the fronts with the Gieser springs and mid perch tomorrow. Only issue is I’m not sure how to torque the lower bolt to 460 foot pounds accurately.
Cleaned everything up and it seems like it’s a reddish fluid from the transmission pan. So I assume when I do the fluid change I’ll need a new gasket for that. Will I also need to go ahead and replace the gasket for the front and rear diffs?
I definitely do not want to sell my Gen 1 but I would love to have a 250 for the towing purposes. Hopefully one day I’ll be able to keep the Gen 1 and have something to tow with.
Posted this in the wrong place originally so adding it here. Hopefully the video is in the right format and can be seen. Underside of my truck with 130,000. I plan on changing the trans fluid, transfer case fluid, and both diffs. I looked under it today and it seems like there is some sort of...
Yeah I'm aware of that now. Truck would not start and was the third time that it happened and did not know what the issue was, so I took it to the stealership and that's what they charged. Should have done some more research before.
Came across this thread and figured I would tell what maintenance I have had done. It is a 2010 with the 5.4 L and 130,000 miles. So far I have replaced...
