    Spark Plug part numbers?

Wanting to change my spark plugs soon on my 2018, just want to go with stock plugs as they've been totally fine the last 70k miles. I see both SP-550-X and SP-594 listed as stock part numbers. Which one is correct? Also, do either of these come pre-gapped correctly? If not, does anyone have a...

    Coolant + temps questions

Just an update to anyone reading this - replaced the thermostat and got the coolant back down to a 50:50 mix. So far so good. Some little tips: -Most of the videos I see show a metal thermostat cover, but the Raptor cover is black plastic. -If you have an electric ratchet it will make the...

    Coolant + temps questions

I've asked the dealer that did the work to please outline exactly what their procedure was. They called it a flush, though I am not sure if they actually did that or just exchanged the coolant - the invoice isn't specific. However, the high concentration / incorrect dilution of coolant would...

    Coolant + temps questions

The truck is under warranty, so I'm not swapping out anything at my own cost and not really willing to give them any reason to deny a warranty claim. The double edged sword of warranty I guess. Was able to replicate the temp warning this morning on a flat highway with a moderate pull after only...

    Coolant + temps questions

Possibly - is there any way to test this out? Would there be any reason the dealer would have removed / reinstalled the thermostat as part of the coolant flush? That seems unlikely but stranger things have happened.

New to me 2018 getting hot on highway climbs

You're saying if the thermostat was removed and reinstalled it could stick? Simply flushing the coolant wouldn't cause an issue, correct? I'm having a similar issue with my truck after a coolant flush.

    Coolant + temps questions

Having an issue with my truck and the temps at the moment. Bone stock, 60k miles. I am religious about maintenance. Just had the coolant flushed at the dealer and embarked on a 700mi drive today. Nearing mile 600 and going uphill I saw, for the first time ever, a temperature notation above the...

    Off road finally got me

I like Optimum's products - I find them very easy to work with. More importantly, a good orbital polisher and pads - otherwise you'll never really get a worthwhile result. I use Lake Country flat foam pads. I match a more aggressive pad with the more aggressive Optimum Hyper Compound and then...

    Extended warranty

Easily worth an extra $2k if you're getting a year or more of coverage, IMO. When I've bought expensive used cars I've always tried to find something with remaining warranty - it's a peace of mind thing for me. At any rate, I bought a plan from Zeigler and they were great to work with.

    K02 updated?

I was getting 16.5mpg with a 50/50 mix of city and highway...generally pretty easy on it. All highway I will see closer to 19mpg. That was on relatively worn tires though. Curious how it'll do on fresh rubber...though even 16.5 is pretty impressive for anything on 35s.

    Gen 2 oil?

Any 5W30 full synthetic that meets the 946-B1 Ford spec and is SN Plus or better will be totally fine. If you're changing every 5k miles you'll be OK with any oil meeting that spec. There is a lot of discussion about using "euro" oils with higher HTHS ratings in turbo engines for better shear...

    K02 updated?

The noise difference is astounding. Mine were a little bit cupped - but they had been rotated every 5k. I think lower rear pressure will definitely help too.

BF Goodrich KO2 - C2 vs E2 load rating, ride quality affected?

The best price I could get, including tax and install, on the Goodyears was around $1,450. I was $1,250 out the door on the KO2s from a tire shop I like locally. Maybe next time around will line up with better incentives on the Goodyears and I'll give them a shot. Balance should only be thrown...

BF Goodrich KO2 - C2 vs E2 load rating, ride quality affected?

Just wondering why? The beadlock / beauty rings are symmetrical so they shouldn't change the balance. Could be missing something here though as I haven't owned beadlocks prior to this. There was some discussion in another thread about these - I was really curious about them too, but they were...

    K02 updated?

New tires mounted - visually identical. The ride / road noise on the highway is so much better than the ~30k mile tires they are replacing. I have no doubt I could have gotten the originals to 40k+ but fresh tires certainly feel a lot better.

    Crazy ass dealer

I called this dealer about a Gen 2 they had on the lot back in April - I didn't end up buying from them, and I am not surprised that they are trying to get that sort of money for the Gen 3.

Truck almost burnt to the ground

If you leave the car parked for long periods they love to build nests inside them and eat the wires. Daily driving seems to keep the critters out!

    Best tonneau cover

I have an UltraFlex hard folding cover that's in great shape - it'll be coming off the truck next month when I put a shell on. It's got integrated in bed lighting, gas struts, etc. If anyone wants it in Southern California feel free to PM me - glad to sell it for half of new.

    K02 updated?

Went to order tires today and found that the stock 113S rated tire isn't available right now, but a 113T version was. Tire shop has indicated everything is the same spec wise (and BFG website indicates they're the recommended tire now for the Raptor), but they have a step higher speed rating and...

    Secure storage during roadtrip?

If you do get a tonneau cover, make sure it is not a segmented one - those make the bed nearly useless and they completely block the rear window if you need to load anything large enough to fold up all 3 segments. I'm going to put a topper on mine, which locks and you can cover anything you put...

    ~21mpg after tune.

The calibration is a bit off - it's not accurate when stock and definitely not accurate after being tuned. Here is how to fix it: https://www.f150forum.com/f118/fix-inaccurate-mpg-display-2-minutes-421912/

Raptor and its future (EV Raptor)

Battery density has more than tripled in the last 10 years among common battery cell types - it is 100% a certainty that battery density will continue to improve. The charging times have dropped in half in that time frame. Solar prices are coming down as well - if you live somewhere with...

    Wireless CarPlay adapter anyone?

I get in and out of the car enough that plugging the phone in got annoying - I bought some of these magnetic cables off of Amazon. They aren't perfect, but work pretty well and it's quick to grab the phone and get out of the car.

Raptor and its future (EV Raptor)

I wish I could get the Powerboost in a Raptor - would place an order immediately. EV is fine, but range is too small to be usable for me right now - in the future when the energy density of the batteries has grown considerably none of us would want a gasoline car. Get solar at home and you're...

Cant get MA inspection stick PLEASE HELP

Why would your Whipple tune prevent you from passing MA inspection? Based on my experience in MA, any tune that isn't haphazard should pass fine with a mostly stock car (because you really cannot get that aggressive on mostly stock cars anyways).
