I'm with you.
The prices on the Rs will never be as high as they are currently. I assume the R will go down to MSRP in 2024 and for the EcoBoost, there will be discounts, maybe at invoice in some states..
Yeah true, not the interest rates alone.. but plus: general economy, gas prices and no SCAB (haha) - that is for sure narrowing the potential buyers.. Of course, with the given production numbers, the demand still dramatically outperforms the inventory. So the only thing that will make a real...
Markups on the R will go away, if Ford increases production and keeps the truck coming for the next 2-3 model years.
With the current interest rates, the 110k price point isn't for everyone.
Dealer orders have been popping up at the Ford.com Inventory and other pages like Autotrader.com.
I called a few dealers across some states to see that the real prices are at the moment. Those R listings are either sold customer orders or they ask for 40-50k over. For me that is too much money...
This would make sense, but now Ford sends these "keep waiting" mails to the 2022 order holders that do not yet have a VIN.
To me, that latest Ford mail implies that they are still working on getting some more 2022 orders scheduled and built.
Yes, I also got that email.
However my dealer contacted me this week saying that my order will not get built..
Does this email mean anything? Is there supposed to be an allocation associated with the order?
Good to hear that people are still getting production slots for 22s :)
I also got that "update on your order" email.. my order is from October 2021 and the dealer just said it doesn't look like it'S getting picked up by Ford.
This process is a mess.
I did receive that email from Ford on my order as-well.
But unless you do not yet have your VIN, you're not scheduled for production as of now.. :/
Last year, orders did not get rolled over to the new model year automatically. I guess the dealer needs to reorder as 2023, which is sth that Ford...
Can confirm that with a recent case.. I currently have a 2021 F150 with 6k miles and a rear window wouldn't come up anymore during a trip in Los Angeles. I talked to all LA-area Ford dealerships to get it fixed as I needed to park the truck outside the hotel over night. None of them was...
Software fixes and updates are done "over-the-air"
For mechanical issues, they have a mobile service that comes to your home.
On top of this they have started to build a service center network:

Yeah that's it. ADMs aside for a sec: It has always been annoying to talk to sales people and work with dealerships, but since other companies are now proofing that it can work otherwise, it's getting ridiculous with the dealership experiences..
Last year, I've put 1k on a Rivian R1T order and...
I expect the same.. Dealers will also break their word on spoken allocations and so on.. I talked to a lot of dealers to get an allocation, I would say even over the last 12 month and there wasn't even 1 dealer where I would feel safe with ordering and actually getting an R for MSRP or close to...
Ford needs to start a new company and establish the direct sales model like Tesla and Rivian.
At this point, no more mercy for the conventional dealers.
The legacy structure that car companies are still running has also way too complex and too many costly middle layers with sales reps and area...
