I bought my first bump shock from RPG several years ago. Winters here are tough 3 months of driving on snow pack. Fenders never melt out until end of March. We salt the roads. Some areas use sand only, but we have a local salt production facility. I have not taken my bump shocks out in the...
Cold and snowy weekend here in Northern Michigan. My LED lights are coated with snow and ice. No effective lighting. Old school HIDs are the bomb if you have to deal with ice. LEDs will not melt the snow. Rain-x...doesn't matter.
I thought I had a cv axle problem. I jacket up the truck and checked the IWE and they were fine. The wheels/ CV axles turned smoothly at full droop. I suppose that doesn't mean they aren't damaged. I noticed that the front boot to the front drive shaft was ripped out. I pulled the front...
Got stuck in 2wd. Put the truck into 4wd while stopped. Loud crunching from front of truck upon giving some gas forward and reverse. No obvious damage on inspection. Got unstuck and out of the sand. At home looking under the truck I see a wet spot (not the good kind) at the passenger CV...
I was running thru you tube videos of baja with locos mocos and mexican 1000 adventure 2013 and lo and behold raptor race truck parked in line for the race. Totally sick video also shows a pass. Sweet adventure fellas
I struggled with what order of modifications to improve performance. I didn't want to spend the cash for headers, exhaust, CAI and tuners all at the same time. For convenience and cost sake I went with 5 star tune first. I dialed in the 87 performance. I was a little disappointed with the...
Was bored and wanted to work on the truck. I have been thinking about it for a while. I know Wiz and maybe some others have enlarged the extractors. Wiz made his a little too big and disrupted the airflow across the windshield. I enlarged them an inch medially. A pineapple burr on a dremel...
OK guys anybody have any experience with these. They have some popularity with the rock crawlers. I am always nerved up about rolling out of my tire when aired down at Silver lake to 10 lbs
Staun Internal Bead Lock 17 x 7-9 Wide (Set of 4)
I haven't been able to put he txn control to the flashing level with the tires deflated. It works fine when the low tire pressure warning isn't on. I don't remember the truck doing this in years pass. Is this this standard or is something wrong with my txn control. Thanks
I was lucky enough to win a couple of projection lights from Double AA. I didn't want to put them in the door. I pulled power from the trailer connector parking light wire. The driver side has a convenient bracket just inside the rear door on my scab that just needed to be bored out. I'm...
It would be nice if the calendar in banner could be used to track raptor runs. I don't know if the mods can set it up or not. It would help to know what runs were coming up.
I can only speak on Rigids, because that is what I have. They are super bright. They look cool on the truck. The only problem I have is they don't burn hot enough to melt snow. Every time I stop for gas when the roads are winter wicked I have to clean off the LEDs. Definitely a good reason...
I just ordered new tie rods from Jarrett. You guys need to call him to get good deals on any upgrades you want. I got black rods coming. He took good care of me on my stage 3 rear end and has kept it going with the new upgrade.
Have any of you running the zetas in rough terrain had the damage to the shock guards like the OEM fox shocks? I'm wondering if they are going to need an outlaw-like shock protector. The bottom mount looks pretty vulnerable looking at mine from the rear of the truck.
Installed Off Road Only (ORO) spot lights. They are great for working around the truck at night. Red works great because it doesn't draw in mosquitos and bugs and keeps your night vision intact. They make preparing for hunting and fishing much easier.
