Out of Warrantee Cam Phaser Repair cost?

for a Ford tech, that is some ballsy information. Have you read your own past reference info on this cold start cam phasers failure? You seem to disregard your own advice. These people need to get their design issue addressed via tsb. Ford knows they have an issue/ just like they had an issue on...

Gen 3 Exhaust Sound Took a Video - Got to hear it in person!

I once owned a 1988 Ford T-Bird turbo coupe with that same blue interior. Never. Again. I can’t believe Ford would think to release this way. I will say that the TRX definitely has the for beat for interior. This view shows that already, and the dash itself puts it vastly further ahead. I have...

Out of Warrantee Cam Phaser Repair cost?

Do not wait for a letter. Push this now, and if your dealer says 'no', move on to the next dealer. Ford should be paying for this. With the TSB, you get the 'get out of jail free' card. With that said, get it fixed ASAP. It is surprising that you both let this issue go. Why would you not...

Better exhaust sound quality: Trombone style from Gen 3

Yes - looks like they have been out a few years.

Better exhaust sound quality: Trombone style from Gen 3

Definitely not as good as stock. The new trombone factory unit sounds better, but it is still that - a trombone.

    Cam Phasers?

yes, that is the cam phasers failure that you hear in the first few seconds. You should definitely get in line to get them replaced.

Better exhaust sound quality: Trombone style from Gen 3

Nice - I don't think that enough people know about this Limited muffler setup. It definitely sounds awesome. For the 6cyl, quieter is 100% definitely better. The trombone exhaust definitely does what it says...... it sounds like a trombone. I don't like it.

    IC shutters , remove ?

You have not done your due diligence on this. Shameful to spew such shit rhetoric. Ford has done a ton of work on this and those shutters are why you don’t have misfires. This replaces the idea that people had in pre-17 trucks by drilling the intercooler to drain it. Leaving the shutters in...

    IC shutters , remove ?

No - The summer is actually when you need them. Ford designed these in and tested it that way. I think they know what they are doing with these.

I love the 7:43 mark where he states "when you really want to piss everyone off, including bronco owners".

So much for significantly undercutting the trx msrp

I wholeheartedly agree with the thoughts around price.... may as well buy a TRX since price point is so close. Also, I am still amazed that people think that their "trade value" or "market value" is "awesome" right now. That is just poor financial insight. Let's say you trade in at that high...

Sadly I'm not really feeling the Ford love anymore.

This is the point to call it. Get out if it ASAP while prices are stupid-high right now. Unload that thing, and get something different until Ford does something different...... Raptor R at the minimum. You need a different drivetrain. Maybe a Powerstroke or Duramax?

    Raptor-R Spotted in the wild....

Wow - are you kidding? Do you know what an ecoboost raptor sounds like? This is obviously a v8... you may want to get your hearing checked if you can’t hear it.

    Raptor-R Spotted in the wild....

Sounds awesome. However, it does not sound like the 5.2SC.... definitely sounds like the 7.3, or could be the mystery 6.8 that the Ford union boss was alluding to many months ago.

My Issues Post Cam Phaser Replacement

Do you have the service paperwork to show what was replaced, and what new part numbers you have? I think with the 3/18 service date, you did not get the newest PN associated with the service.

    2017 SCrew 53,000 Miles.

you will need to review the specifics of each model year. This truck would have both the plastic oil pan and the old style cam phasers. If you can afford to sit back and wait, that will be the best thing for you.

    2017 SCrew 53,000 Miles.

Waiting it out should be the easy part - you do not want to spend your hard earned money on a problem(s).

GEN 2 2020 Spark Plug Change

Curious - why would you not gap them all the same? Not gapping them correctly from the start is only opening yourself up for getting misfires sooner.

    2017 SCrew 53,000 Miles.

It does not sound like you are fully into this particular truck. I would pass on it and also wait for the COVID inflation pricing to subside.... it will soon. Once that happens, prices will get back to reality and the new version will be more attractive. Definitely wait it out. You will find...

Need Your Help! To buy or not? Pics attached

Definitely looks like an animal got in. That itself creates a huge concern. Can check the VIN through OASIS at Ford dealer service to see if it had any wiring issues, or even if it had the cam phasers replaced yet.

    Lucas fuel treatment anyone

For reference, Ford tuning will allow you to run on 87 octane without hurting the engine. Their tuning is adaptive to octane as most manufacturers are these days.

    Lucas fuel treatment anyone

They make a great product for diesel engines that cleans/lubes injectors, AND also cleans the DPF. However, on a gas engine, I think that Chevron makes the best for cleaning/lubing the injectors. It has Tecron in it that really seems to be the market favorite. With the standards of gasoline...
