What did u do to your raptor today?

I didn't have to lift the box or even remove the tires for what was installed today. Skipped the axle strike plates for now, deavers are going in next weekend. Just put a bumper jack on the back and hoisted it up until the rear tires were just off the ground. Everything went in pretty well, but...

    GEN 1 Recon Headlights

The Morimoto XB LED's are decent, but expensive. I think I actually prefer the HID conversion that was done on my 04 F150 for being able to see better though.

GEN 1 Wheels Questions (Brand, offset, size)

I've been happy with mine. For a while, there were some fakes being sold online and I believe that is where a lot of the bad reviews came from. https://news.yahoo.com/p7m-worth-fake-black-rhino-000000078.html Not sure where I found it at the time, but there was also an article about checking...

Why do most Raptors lean right when jumping?

Motocross/Dirt bike riders/racers rely on the centrifugal force generated by the rear tire to control their bike during jumps. Revving the engine and getting the rear tire spinning as fast as possible will cause the front of the bike to rise. Tapping the rear brake, while the rear tire is...

Let's talk about the current market conditions for Gen 1 Raptors

Thats what I thought too, but it worked out well for me, so I wasn't going to argue.

Let's talk about the current market conditions for Gen 1 Raptors

Picked up my Gen1, from a Subaru dealer, in mid June. It is in what I would consider to be excellent shape, with 83k on the clock. Drove off the lot w/o paying tax, license, or any of the usual garbage dealers try to push on you for just under 32k (about 1,800 under what KBB suggests it is worth)

    GEN 1 Dealership transmission flush

Pan with a plug is still nice if you plan on keeping the truck for a while and regularly changing the fluid and filter. Pan with plug = much smaller mess when draining fluid to remove pan and access filter.

    DIY 6.2 Spark Plug Change

Did mine today. Wasn't a lot of fun. 90 degrees or so outside and had to be close to the same in humidity.

    HID vs Halogen plugs.

It was this one: https://easternshoreretros.com/blogs/projector-output-comparison/morimoto-xb-2009-2014-f150-light-output-comparison Looking at it again, you're right, the XB's are bit brighter on low. If you add the low and high together, then they do surpass the OEM highs as well, but idk if...

    MyKey = DON'T DO IT!!!

So with only 1 admin key, are you able to remove the MyKey settings from the 2nd key and return it to an admin key? I'm curious, because I got 1 admin and 1 MyKey with the Raptor, but my 04 F150 requires 2 admin keys to do pretty much anything.

    HID vs Halogen plugs.

They seem like they are a very well built, quality item. I like the appearance, daytime driving lights, sequential turn signals, and they fit well. Have not had much opportunity to use them at night yet. It's light here from around 5am to 10pm this time of year. They seem bright, even around...

    HID vs Halogen plugs.

Indeed they do. Everything is plug and play. Just installed them on my 2013 about a week ago.

    Wheel Alignment Question

It's been a while since I've looked at one of these, and the last one I saw was in color. But... To the best of my recollection, the lowest step in the box is the manufacturer's suggested range. The next step up is outside the acceptable range. Attention is likely required. It will probably...

    Howdy

Thanks! I just wish I could get the UPS and FedEx drivers around here to share your sentiment! But, I can see how 2 100+lb GSD's blasting out of the garage at full throttle to greet a guy might be a little intimidating if you're not a dog person. That's Deuce in the picture. Ace didn't make it...

    Options/Experiences with Tires

Been running the Cooper STT Pro's on my 04 F150 for years. They're just as happy getting me into (and back out of) places I probably shouldn't be (Mud or Snow) as they are rolling down the highway. They wear well and in my opinion, the level of noise isn't bad at all. I can count on one hand...

    Howdy

That seems pretty steep considering its not a bad job. Swapping the springs around is probably the worst part, and even then, the local fix it shop only charges $30/$40 bucks for that around here. Looks like I got lucky on the exhaust end of it though. Based on the fact that the rest of the...

I actually didn't think the shocks were so bad if you go with the exchange program, but all the headers and exhaust systems I've found so far get way out of hand.

New member from ND, checking in. Been lurking around for a week or so, since about the time I picked up a 2013 w/ 83k on the clock. Loving it so far, but finding out nothing is cheap when it comes to a Raptor.
