As far as I know, the regulation is that you can drive in Wharton and the surrounding state forests in a legal street vehicle (insured and registered) and park ranges won’t bother you. I know they will ticket you and confiscate an ATV or Motorcross since those are not road vehicles.

Wow. Did it do this even with the software update? I know a lot of guys in the forums said their software updated helped a since it was a huge issue in the 2016 models and such.

This is why I’m having my doubts. The 6-speed auto in the Taco is weird from what I’ve read. I would love a manual but it’s not offered in the access can TRD OR. Plus I feel like it needs more power and torque.

But see this is why I asked the question. The pine barrens have some tight trails and can be very challenging. I go there all the time, but see a lot of F-150s and such off roading along with Wranglers.
Seems like you're from NY. Just take a trip to NJ and take the parkway all the way south. Wharton SF has nice campgrounds. And yes, it does get challenging!
This is why I'm having such a hard time deciding. I honestly like both trucks equally. But, the Raptor is the most luxurious and possibly the most comfortable in every way. We spend a lot of time outdoors which includes tons of driving for outdoor activities.
