BTW, thank you for replying and the insight. I’ve talked to a local shop and they outlined this exact method for proper repaint. Glad to see people in my neighborhood know what they are doing.
Yeah too bad, this is really a instance of poor workmanship from Ford. Just talked it over with the shop I plan to use. So I’m looking at $700 for repaint and removal of the windshield. I think I might work some magic with the guys ;) haha. Maybe get a better price. I will keep you guys posted...
Bummer, yeah it does seem like a common occurance in 13” Ford vehicles with white paint. Probably will end up paying for a professional. The paint just will keeps flaking away as long as I pull at it. So it will likely be really sloppy if I do it. Plus I suck at anything handy lol.
Hey guys, just wondering if anyone has experience with peeing paint around the windshield pillar. I have a white 2013 SCREW and lately the paint has started peeling away around the windshield worse. It’s not weathered, just poor painting from the factory. I got several quotes between $350-$1000...
Hope, I’m not spamming. Because I’m not sure anyone can really use it. But it’s the alternator bracket for GEN 1s or other 6.2l super duties.

Completed the fuse 27 relocation. It took a little over an hour for my incompetent ass. But it got done, my soldering job was crap. I should have used the self soldering heat shrink tube I bought, but I decided to try and solder. It was was a ball of solder. Hooked up everything and started the...
I got some spare parts for sale, not mine. Open to trades for my Gen 1, let me know what you got.
Gen 1 Facotry Fox shocks front
and rear with springs. Last owner said he put 55k on them, so they should be rebuilt. However, they looks clean, no rust and they don’t appear to be leaking. Asking...
I’ve used them before on another project. I just like the idea, they are easy to use and I don’t need to work with a soldering iron. But just wanted to run it through forum, before I went ahead.
My kit comes in tomorrow. I’m pretty useless under the hood, but the dealer quoted me $400 to do it. So the cheapskate in me said hell no. Anybody see an issue with me using this self soldering heat shrink tube in place of the included heat shrink tube?
I’m currently in the process of my 100k service.
- paid $970 to have the shocks rebuilt and reinstalled same day
-paid $190 for new NGK 6509 spark plugs, denso wires, and denso boots from rockauto.com (instal to be done for $390 at a shop in my neighborhood)
-changed transfer case fluid...
Hey Ruckus, thanks for the input. I think i read your post already. Between work and the family I don’t have the time right now. I’m cool with the labor cost, but not excited haha. The next cheapest place quoted me $600 for labor only and then Firestone quoted me $1100. So I fee better with $390...
Had my shocks rebuilt at DC Shocks in San Dimas. Took about 3.5hrs. The ride feels much smoother. Now just over 100,3XX miles, so it was do.
Next on the list is spark plugs. I was quoted $390 for labor, I supply plugs, boots, and wires. What do you guys think?
Today I changed my transfer case fluid and made a mess on my driveway. The wife will be excited.
Then took it to Valvoline for the front and rear differential. They charged my $154 total.
