My 2011 does the same thing, and when it does it there is no exeleration, but a winding out sound like a bad transmission looking for a gear. The dealer said they found nothing wrong, could not get it to do it during test run. Bottom line, they said it's probably the rev limiter.
Duct tape fix
The body shop guy at the dealer showed me the product he would use to cover the hole's after they remove the duct tape and clean the area around the hole's. It's called sound dampening material , as I stated in above post. It's a thick rubber, with a peel off adheasive back...
Droped mine at the dealer yesterday, they are removing my A.D.D bumper and the hitch. Repainting the hitch, fixing the bed rust & the rust where the spare tire hits the metal. Pluss useing sound dampening rubber adheasive tape to fix the peelin duct tape issue thats rotting our rockers.
Yes, unless you want to deal with warranty's . It sure does look good in the bed though. If you were going put a cover on the bed I would still get the good stuff.
I had the premium Linex done in my bed, wich has a Bakflip cover so it gets no sun or weather at all. I also had my A.D.D bumpers done with the same top grade Linex. When you compare the bed to the bumpers, you can still see the diamond like sparkle's in the Linex and it still has a nice gloss in...
I got my dealer to agree to fix the starting of the rust, use a sound dampening tape to fix the duct tape issue. Also drop the trailer hitch, paint it,and fix the rust under the bed it caused. This Forum has been very helpfull on a few issues the dealer has fixed for free. New running boards due...
?
I returned it, got higher jack stands and for now figure the crap stock jack will work. If the floor jack your showing goes high enough I would buy it.
So I went to HFT and baught thr torque wrench, jacks, and a bottle jack for less than 80.00 bucks. Problem is the jack and stands wont get the truck off the ground high enough! So do I use blocks of wood ? I'm not spending 200.00 0n a floor jack, just found jacks that are higher. I may just use...
I remember a torque wrench groop buy thread a while ago and can't find it. Any advise on a good one for lug nuts? Not a chance in hell the dealer will be rotating my tires with the new NV's on the truck.
Duct Tape !!
So inspecting the Rockers and findind just the begining of some rust I noticed all along the sheet metal above the rockers, about the length of the running boards there was peeling duct tape covering the holes to keep the water out !! You have to be kidding me !! Nice job Ford !!
Mine is not touching ,but starting to discolor, rockers are ok. One thing That is a rusty spot is where the spare tires rubs under the bed. Drop your spare and check it out. I'm geting it fixed asap.
