I had my 2017 Cayenne GTS for, I kid you not, 6 months before I got rid of it. It had a ton of really annoying squeaks/rattles (it had less than 15k miles on it when I bought it...), the auto/start stop system was the worst I'd ever had the misfortune of dealing with, and it kept having other...
A perfect storm of events: I'd never owned a truck, had wanted a Raptor since 2018, found the exact spec I wanted locally, got a good deal on the purchase/trade-in, my RR had some weird issue pop up that the CPO warranty didn't want to cover which pissed me off, and ultimately we were buying a...
My response is a bit late, but maybe it'll help someone else.
I went Porsche Cayenne GTS --> Range Rover Sport Autobiography (SC V8, ECU tune with 600hp+) --> Range Rover (full size, SC V6) --> Raptor 35".
While I do miss having something a little smaller/nimbler with an enclosed cargo space...
I put a $100 deposit down super early and just got an email that I can configure a Foundation edition for January-March 2024 delivery.
Thought about buying it to flip it, but $100K for what will realistically be mid-200 miles of range in a thing that looks like that does is way too risky for me...
Raptor Assault was pretty damn awesome. The itinerary, crew, and everything you get to do is such an amazing experience that they've setup for owners. Wish I did this before off-roading my Raptor several times--one-pedal driving is handy and I didn't realize you could do 2WD Baja mode.
Is the HVAC control worth the time and effort? Does it require Forscan or is it plug and play? I ask because I remember seeing someone here post that they just swapped the other one in and it worked fine.
Installation was super quick -- maybe 15 minutes start to finish.
Unfortunately I realized I have a subwoofer or something back there taking up most of my useful space :hahano:
I'm biased because I have a 2022, but I also specifically bought a 2022 over a 2023 when I was shopping. Why? Because the 2022 is the newest model that has:
- Front Torsen differential
- Heated steering wheel
- No auto start/stop
2023 (and beyond?) is missing the Torsen and heated steering...
Bottom buttons are still there, but instead of having CarPlay with the window to the right that shows various things you can expand CarPlay all the way to the right.
Ah gotcha. Road trip means that sensor has been getting cleaned pretty regularly because of bugs.
I have the full blown TACC + LKA setup going, which 3 versions ago worked quite well and oftentimes better than my wife's Model 3.
I installed one that had been queued for about a month, then a week later it installed 3.5.4 -- both are bad.
Confirmed that LKA is active (have toggled it on and off a few times to try to fix it) and that the eye sensors are clean. What's strange is that as it steers me over boundaries it...
Yeah I should have clarified I meant LKA. It's struggling super hard on roads with clearly marked lanes in broad daylight. It's basically unusable everywhere other than completely straight freeways right now.
Whatever they changed in the last update has made it downright dangerous to use. It...
This update gave me full screen CarPlay/AA, but it ruined the self-driving features the day before we embarked on a ~2000 mile roadtrip. It's terrible on anything other than mostly straight roads :(
