I just went through this here in washington state and even though we are abolishing emissions, if you buy a new car out of state (meaning it has less than 7500 miles on it), you have to buy a vehicle that has the CARB sticker under the hood! This number is recorded at the DOL and is the only way...
I’ll take another with the shutters cut to spec as well, if anyone is interested.
Coupled with Cobb AP, custom Goose tune for 92 oct and my Cobb intake, it’s killer!
Well, it’s official, you have to trim the shroud for the shutters and of course, remove the air guide trim that surrounds it. Not a big deal though and unless you closely inspected it, you cannot tell it’s modified. That being said, you do have to measure twice and cut once because if you take...
What could you possibly replace the raptor with though??
And yes, I’ll holler at you if I can talk my buddy into yours. I have one as of now so thank you!
You’ve got to be kidding me! How frustrating. Sorry this is happening— My truck is in the same boat with mileage and age.
Did ford offer any reasons this happened, what dates were effected, tsb, etc?
I’m also curious how long your rig will be down?
Not to spoil the party here guys, but China likes to do their R&D (rip off and duplicate) by using other brands components, deconstructing them and pop off parts from those moulds— The part number from Mishimoto is obv part of this casting pour and therefore on the eBay part. Shocker, I know...
Of course! I sure hope it works out the way we’d all like— I’m not a fan of cutting anything on my truck.
Alternatively, adding a Chinese mfg, crumbling pot metal, intercooler (whether it’s making power or not right now), will most definitely fall apart under stress levels due to cheap...
Garrett never did respond, but I decided to order one from them anyway??! Great products. Terrible at responding.
At any rate, I measured and think at along as the core isn’t larger in depth as stated, I have a shot to squeeze it in without cutting.
I get it on Wednesday so I’ll post pics as...
Ok thank you. ....So I count one 2019 so far on this forum that’s failed— Is that it?
Side note: I can’t find another 19 on the other forums failing quite yet. Could be due to mileage?
And I’m also nervous now to introduce my goose tune for fear of this Ignorance sure was bliss
How many people with 2019s are actually getting this done?
...Maybe it doesn’t matter, but did I miss the part showing build date and model years affected?
Guess I’m the runner up at 1k on my 19 raptor in 1 mo ownership. Haha. I got all excited hoping to find a 50k mi plus guy on here telling me all he’s done is oil changes..
I looked those over, thanks— And I do see the raptor skid on one photo, but Im looking at all the other pics and they’re F-150 ...8 out of 10 and seemingly on the shutter area. I’m lost haha
I caught the install instruction, but where it notes raptor, it only says to disconnect the fan plug— everything else (incl the shuttters), it’s showing it being removed on the F-150 model, not actually on the raptor.
Full race emailed me and said this is also the case, but Garrett has yet to...
That’s great. Can any of you guys confirm with Garrett as to whether or not you’re only removing the air guide / shroud for the shutters or cutting / removing the shutters?
Garrett shows (at the top of their instructions) that you remove the shutters, but doesn’t say hey it show it on the...
Reason i like this option is that Mishimoto is only designed in Delaware and the materials and build is outsourced to China.
Not to slam anyone, but I don’t want this to happen to my intercooler...

OK guys, it looks like the injen is a bit smaller and could be restrictive for later modifications, for examples, larger turbos. That said, Garrett offers super high quality (speaks for itself), cheaper than Mishimoto depending on where you shop, it’s only .3 thicker and it’s flow capable to...
I would def be interested in a tune form you my friend! I have a 19 and was about to order an AP with CAI, but if you have a deal on those with a tune, I’d love to see a break out? Also, I’m in Wa state, using 92 oct and have plans to upgrade the FMIC. Any thoughts on Mishimoto vs Injen (cost /...
Thank you for the details my man— Appreciate it. Just need to see some comparisons and see how many upgrades I actually plan on doing to make sure it’s offering scalable support.
Does anyone have any dimensions and feedback to compare the Injen Intercooler for the Raptor vs, say, Mishimoto? They’re a bit less expensive and to be honest, I’ve seen both up close and have to say that the quality of welds, alignment and finish are way better on the injen units. Sadly, I just...
