These engines are load based. They are designed to make the same power on stock tune no matter what. The only way they gained the extra HP is if they mess with the calibration.
I agree can we not create another catch can thread. There’s already hundreds. Keep your opinions to yourself. It’s the OPs truck, not yours.
There is no harm not running one. I absolutely hate it when people come in here convincing them the truck won’t make it past 10k without running one. If...
Yeah I’d remove the catch can setup and just drive the damn thing. Ford did their research. Last thing you want to do is mess with the crankcase ventilation flow. That will cause major problems.
What tune are you running? You may need to do a kam reset.
Removing the cover actually helps the IAT2 sensor read correctly especially idling. Many times the cover will trap heat in and cause the IAT2 to read higher than usual.
Nothing wrong with that at all. You’ll just notice the iat will read lower without it.
There’s nothing wrong with running a single valve. Yes a dual valve will catch more but not everyone tracks or races their raptor. So for the average casual daily driver, single valve is perfect for them. Or be like many people and stick stock. Some will catch more than others but there’s many...
The ORA tune is VERY refined. Always in the right gear and power when you need it. Best part is the truck is never lugged.
Both are exceptional tunes but I personally went with ORA since I worked with gearhead in the past on many vehicles. Both tunes have had in-depth work done to them to...
During light cruising or idle is when your IAT2 temps will be the highest as the throttle body isn’t open to allow air to flow thru the intercooler. Completely normal.
I also highly recommend staying with the stock filter if off-roading. It will filter the best and is cheap to change.
Not a lot of people know that the stock motorcraft filter is in fact ever so slightly oiled.
They are currently working on it and should be done with it very soon. They do quite a bit of testing ensuring the tune works in all environments like stock without sacrificing reliability and drivability.
They are not a bad upgrade but they’re on the same lines of doing a CAI. These trucks are load based tuned. So on stock tune you’ll still make the same power with maybe a bit more throttle response.
Now is that charge temp under load or cruising? Anytime you are cruising or idling then of course your temps will be high as air is not moving thru intercooler. As soon as you get into boost you will see your temps drop. But these intercoolers do heatsoak after some abuse.
Set off my 14 raptor. Been in a container for about 2 years. Good condition. No sensors or hub caps.
Located in SoCal. Asking 350 OBO. Pm if interested. Willing to negotiate.
If going meth, then stick with stock intercooler. No need to upgrade intercooler if running meth.
If not then consider upgrading the intercooler.
Very overkill to run both.
I would personally stick stock with the motorcraft filter as that will filter the best in the desert if you plan to Offroad. Also it’s cheap to replace.
