The USB drive must be formatted as exFAT and then all I did was copy over the files to it, plug it into a USB port in the truck, turn on the ignition, and then after 30-45s the “installing system update” banner appeared at the top of the screen. It then stayed like that for about 30-40 mins...
Ford released a new update a few days ago. Just found it on the MyFord site, downloaded it to a USB drive, and spent about 30mins letting it install. TBD on whether or not it fixes it, but I have my fingers crossed!
Fair. They replaced it with a new APIM with the previous (pre-May) software build installed. The issue will resurface if he upgrades to this latest build because it’s bugged. Tell him to stick with his current SW build and to not upgrade.
Someone shared a post on this process earlier in this thread--it looks like the issue is not isolated to a specific Raptor or even Ford model year and instead impacts all Sync 3 systems updated to the latest firmware (~May 2023 build). You're correct though--having Ford swap it out under the ESP...
Checked the dealer ticket and part hl1z3c247a is what they replaced to resolve the issue.
At first, they could not reproduce the sound and thought revving the engine in-place while stationary is what I meant. Had to get them to warm up the truck (didn’t do it as consistent when cold) and then...
Just got my 2019 back from the dealer after 19 days troubleshooting this same sound. It turns out the IWE actuator broke and hub bearings were shot. They actually said it looked like whoever replaced the hubs did a poor job and broke the actuator…or that it was in an accident. Glad they...
Ugh. Mine has been at the dealer for three weeks while they diagnose this same issue…oddly enough mine happens after the truck has warmed up, which leads me to believe it’s an exhaust shield and they insist all of that seems to be solid.
It looks like they just bolted them on, but they didn’t actually reseat the bead between the wheel and the beadlock ring. It’s supposed to clamp the tire in…yikes.
Did anyone find these for a reasonable price? My 2019 still has a PDR/wheel&tire/windshield warranty from the dealer and came with a gash on the beadlock trim—not sure the warranty company will cover a $1k wheel claim though!
Just found both of the seats on my 2019 had clips loose. You need to roll the clips 180 degrees so they’re facing up and they clip to the metal frame. Careful with the passenger side…sliced my thumb pretty good on the damn seat frame.
The reason I was looking under the seat is the small console...
