Hello! My Gen 1 2010 steering column has gone bad, the part number is 9L3Z-3C529-F which is discontinued. Does some one know if I can use 2011-2014 steering column? Part numbers: CL3Z-3C529-AD / CL3Z-3C529-AE /
CL3Z-3C529-AF
What is the culprit? they told me about the upper steering shaft that connects to the steering column that has some play in the rag joint and the steering column that also has some play.
I took the truck to a rack and pinion specialist today and a ford mechanic and they deduced that the problem is in the upper shaft or steering column because the steering besides the shaking responds well and the suspension is working great since it’s all new.
front tires are good the rear ones are a little staggered but this was before new uca, lca and tie rods and shocks. maybe a bad rotor since when I off road and hit the breaks it shakes more and creates more vibration (rotors have 10k miles and that looseness started before the rotors) could be...
My tires are at 35-38 don’t remember all of them. The springs went in with new shocks. I was off roading today to do some testing and i put pressure up the steering and it stoped the shaking almost all but could feel the vibration like something is loose from the steering shaft to the steering...
i don’t have them but when the road is good i can let the steering go and it runs straight without me touching it at any mph. Also I had an inspection today, all good suspension since it’s new. they told
me the steering shaft is good but i have my doubts. I don’t think that having geisers would...
The suspension works like new except the leaf springs that are oem and haven’t changed bushings or anything it’s just that loose steering feeling that just drives me crazy and can’t feel secure on the road or off road
The steering is very responsive, once i move it the tires move so it’s not that kind of play. I will look the steering shaft. It’s just loose steering and anything on the road moves it
I will do that, check the rotors and inspect the alignment. I’m really leaning to the part that maybe the rack and pinion doesn’t have enough compression and just needs and adjustment since i put the new one is more loose and I think that is not normal. (I changed it because it had play)
2010, i did try it and still does the same. my worries are the loose steering it was loose before I changed the rack and pinion last year (it’s cardone remanufactured now) since then it’s have been even more loose and putting all new suspension components didn’t changed anything just better ride...
Hello can anyone point me to the direction where might be the shaking and vibration from my steering wheel is coming from? It doesn’t do it on perfect pavemented roads but if i go 5-20 mph in roads where there are little rocks or if I off road slowly the steering starts to shake and i feel...
