Update #2.
From a technical aspect this certainly won't help anyone, but maybe just from a sharing of information someone may benefit.
Service Tech called me yesterday and said some of the parts needed to fix my transmission would not be available until 9/28. At this point my truck has been...
Thx guys. I will make sure to check the part numbers, but he assured me all parts would be new OEM stuff. Matter of fact the torque converter is currently on back order per him, but hope to have one by Monday.
Update on my original post....
So the service advisor just called me. I will try to convey what he said as best I can.
He says upon tearing down my transmission that the tech did not find any metal shavings. There were some "hot spots" on some of the clutches apparently. At this point they...
Thanks a lot for all of the insight and opinions. I feel much better about the situation as a whole and also appreciate the knowledge in defining terminology. I will report back with whatever it is I am told and I am hopeful they may be able to determine a root cause. I am guessing that's...
Thanks so far for the thoughts/opinions. This is exactly the kind of info. I was seeking. I will try to gather any info. from them I can in the hopes of having something worthwhile to post in regards to the 10r80. Not sure what that would be though.
Hi All,
I have a 2018 802A screw with 7,600 miles. No mods except Fumoto oil valve. Bought Nov. of 18. Never towed with it or even had it offroad yet. My transmission started to shift erratically the other day and I assume went into limp mode. The wrench appeared. Luckily I was close to...
I have only done one oil change thus far and also used the performance filter. I am about to do my second change. Switched to the performance filter at the first change with no problems. We will see how this one goes. Going to add the fumoto valve this time around as well as stay with the...
I did use my spare and went spare to right rear, right rear to front right, front right to left rear, rear left to front left, and then front left becomes the spare. I did not balance any of the tires again(except the spare) and did not need any other alignment. Tires are wearing great and air...
I just did it at about 4,500. You will need another tpms sensor and to have the spare balanced. First truck I have ever done this with and not sure why. I think it's just a preference thing and no real right or wrong answer.
A real beadlock is absolutely a completely different animal all together. I'm just talking about the stock "beadlock" from Ford. That's why I write it as such. I looked and I paid 19.99(including shipping) for an OEM sensor. It appears they can be cheaper if you buy a set of 4. They are...
I just bought one OEM sensor to go in my spare and it was about 20 bucks and that includes shipping. I then had it put in my spare and it was another $20. So $40 for the whole process. 2018 with factory "beadlock" wheels. They also balanced my spare. Local tire shop.
Sorry, got busy and didn't get back on. It is the same filter that someone else already linked. I buy several at a time as I have on old Bronco I also use that filter for. I think I pay about 19 and some change for them. Haven't installed or used my Fumoto yet so can't really comment on...
Have only done 1 oil change so far(4,300 miles). I plan to add the fumoto valve, but switched to a Ford performance filter that is much bigger than the ones from the factory. Also, as most have said only hand tight for the most part. I am hopeful this filter with more surface area will be...
Again, I haven't installed(used) mine yet, but my SX came with a plastic white barbed nipple extension. It also came with the blue safety clip and two dust caps. Even without the extension I wouldn't be too worried about the hose leaking as the only pressure it will be under when the oil is...
I've only changed my oil once so far, but will be adding the adjustable Fumoto(wish it was the Ronin) at the next oil change. I drained the pan first and then just barely loosened the filter. Nothing coming out of the filter at this point. Slide a gallon zip lock bag over the filter and up...
I tried to look up the part number on the connection to the battery and had no luck. I was trying to see if I could figure out if it had more than the function of the auto start/stop.
I talked to a guy at Ford Performance and this is the paint code he gave me for the beauty rings on OEM beadlock capable wheels:
Paint: Magnetic (FM6EWHE)
Clear: MID GLOSS CLEARCOAT
I have not done the research yet to find it.
For the plastic plug/pans check out the Ronin plug. It's a little pricey , but looks awesome! I would like to have gone that direction, but they don't make one for the metal pans.
I am using this and purchased it at Costco for about 30 bucks for 6 quarts. Also. I apologize for how the font size changes every time I copy and paste something. I am a computer idiot and don't know how to change it or put in links etc...:
Mobil 1 94001 5W-30 Synthetic Motor Oil - 1 Quart
I got the filter info. from another thread on here and the other poster was currently using it. It is bigger than the stock filter. I have been using it for about 1.000 miles and no problems. I agree with you that I never found anywhere that said it would work on our engines. I just looked...
Be interested yo hear your thoughts once completed. I saw where another poster clocked their valve at about 7 O'clock and then used some hose to run down into a container. Looked really civil compared to what occurred to me last time. I will install my valve next oil change so I am 2 changes...
