Baja Designs: General Discussion Thread - GEN 2

Lets try to upload these pictures again. There is plenty of room when you open the hood with the SDHQ mounts, no concern there. I ran the wires under the plastic weather stripping and trim and into the engine bay. No rubbing on the harness when opening the hood. Antenna options I'm still...

Baja Designs: General Discussion Thread - GEN 2

Good call on the vinyl. I'll ask the local shop if they have any scrap to cover the insides of each to keep it out of the driver and passenger eyes. I'll upload pictures when I get home. Doing this on mobile is getting on my nerves

Baja Designs: General Discussion Thread - GEN 2

Paul deserves a raise. We have chatted a handful of times over the phone and via email, his help and patience is much appreciated. Took the truck out last night, it's bright as expected, but I will be adjusting the passenger A pillar angle to face slightly outwards to combat the side leds from...

Baja Designs: General Discussion Thread - GEN 2

Wiring up the lp6's this weekend. The BD harness is to short after the Y split for A pillar, so I'm soldering in an extension. This has to be enough light for now...I haven't even seen dirt yet, just planning for a fun summer once the trails melt.

Baja Designs: General Discussion Thread - GEN 2

Great info, thanks for the update. Still mulling over final decisions, leaning towards an unlimited kit and making some modifications once it is in my hands to add a 3rd squadron. Most likely I will say "this is plenty of light". Looking at A pillar options now and figuring out how to power...

    Baja designs A pillar lights

Would LP6's be overkill for this location? I was planning on running spots up higher and combos in the bumper fog location. The XL80s do not come with a spot lense hence looking at lp6s. Squadron pro spots might work, didn't think of that. Edit: Now that I think about it, a 6.5" light in that...

Baja Designs: General Discussion Thread - GEN 2

Is anyone aware of vendors running a spring/tax season sale beyond the typical 10% offered year round? I need that little extra to push me over the edge and get on with a purchase. I'm not in love with any of the 3 light setups as the inside light seems to be blocked by the cutout, maybe there...

    Mud guards do they help?

After a month with Huskys on the front, I cannot tell a difference. I tried to convince myself they help, but after regular snow and rain, the doors are just as dirty as they were before. I plan on taking them off. Bummed, but what can you do. Stock 19 with the beadlock capable wheels, no mods.

GEN 2 Difficulty ordering a Raptor locally

^ Same thing. Being able to see options/colors in person was worth an hour or so at Phil Long. Find out what you want, give them the chance to deal, when they don't...there are plenty of other options.

GEN 2 Difficulty ordering a Raptor locally

I spent an afternoon at Phil Long (biggest raptor dealer) but they would not budge...I was fine walking on an 18, they had dozens of them. Their problem, not mine. Freeway Ford was the best expedience locally, but again...only $250 off MSRP and wouldn't move much from that. Deals can be had out...

GEN 2 Difficulty ordering a Raptor locally

OP - I was in the same boat you were. Denver market, "working" with multiple dealers. The best I was able to get was $250 off MSRP. I caught a post here last weekend linking a build that was very close to what I would have ordered anyway for $5k under MSRP in Kansas City. Called them up Monday...

Bed rack for rooftop tent and tonneau

Throwing my 2c in. I had a rollx tonneau cover on my tacoma and build a rack to go over/through it. Yes, it "destroys" the tonneau for resale as there are 2 holes towards the front of the cab, but I would build the same thing again...I might do it for this truck. The tonneau rolls up (on top...

    GEN 2 2019 Raptor Intel ... V2

The real question though....did you get a damn garbage plate? Truck looks great, PBs should be in Colorado in a week or two...hopefully I can make a decision. Pretty jealous, both the truck and Rochester. Haven't been "home" in 5-6 years.

Looking to order a 2019 FULLY LOADED (every option) Raptor - need help with best $

Are you flying in and picking it up? I'm getting the same from the dealers in the Denver area. Best I have so far is MSRP with a bedliner and tailgate step (~$800) thrown in.

    2019 SCrew MSRP vs Invoice

^^ I created an account a few weeks ago (when our friend here was at his peak) and I briefly thought he was a representation of the community....causing me to question if I want to get into one of these trucks.

    GEN 2 2019 Raptor Intel ... V2

Nicks isn't the same nicks since the kids (or brother, I don't remember) took over. You would actually use the bathroom there now....and the floors are clean...come on. However, 2am line out the door and around the corner in January usually means there will be stories to tell for months.

    GEN 2 2019 Raptor Intel ... V2

I want you to stop at Wegmans on the way back and use their facilities, yes. Wegmans does not serve this and if they do, it does not count by a long shot. But man do I miss Wegmans....way more than a normal person should. P hots and Henrietta hots (one of the best in the city) are my 2...

    GEN 2 2019 Raptor Intel ... V2

I grew up in rochester. It's famous for a handful of things, but mostly the garbage plate. What dealer are you picking it up from, a ton of places around town serve it, I'll give you my recommendation based on dealer location.

    GEN 2 2019 Raptor Intel ... V2

Get a garbage plate when you are there. The dealer will tell you to do the same, but unless you visit often (ever again) do yourself a favor and treat that new years diet right.

    Need help with tonneau cover

I cannot recommend a retrax after the entire locking mechanism froze when I was in Buffalo a few years ago. Ended up going through a carwash and tipping the "prespray guy" $20 to sit there with the hot water turned on until it opened up again. Less things to break the better. I have a bakflip...

GEN 2 Camper Shell ideas needed

If i can get off the fence on the purchase, I will be looking at the AT habitat down the road. Not a topper, but we miss our roof top tent. This is an upgraded version of that I would leave on year round. Just wanted to share another option...

To Recaro or not to Recaro?

Shopping for a 19 now, and on the fence about the Recaros. Does anyone know if you can order the Recaros with Ruby Red? The online builder prevents you with either red exterior...waiting on response from the dealer.
