Washboard Dirt Roads = Major Problems

Awesome, thanks. I found a Viair that's only slightly more expensive and should be perfect for the amount of airing up that I'll need to do.

Washboard Dirt Roads = Major Problems

I never blamed the equipment. I simply recapped my experience and asked for input from a knowledgeable group of Raptor owners so that I might learn to better operate my new truck. If you re-read my original post, I even go so far as to ask whether it was simply driver error. (See part about am...

There’s always one. I’ll keep an eye out for you on the Baja 500 podium.

Washboard Dirt Roads = Major Problems

Thanks! I’m registered for an early November Raptor Assault class. Looking forward to it. Appreciate the link to the video.

Washboard Dirt Roads = Major Problems

I can see how this would help. In my particular situation, dialing it way up wasn’t an option. Lots of other vehicles on the road and a 4 year old strapped into a car seat in the back. But I will he letting it loose and testing all of the good tips in this thread this weekend.

Washboard Dirt Roads = Major Problems

Nobody was over correcting. County backroads shouldn’t be like driving on ice IMO. Like I said in my OP, cars and motorcycles of all makes and models were having no issue and my 2008 4Runner would have handled the road with ease.

Are there any drawbacks or trade offs associated with adding traction bars and Deaver/Icons? I understand there is an associated cost.

Washboard Dirt Roads = Major Problems

Fair enough. I'm coming from an old 4Runner that has never once had its tires aired down, which I drove for 210k miles on every road and in every condition imaginable before upgrading to the Raptor. So my recent experience is very limited and I probably should have been more careful with that...

Washboard Dirt Roads = Major Problems

Helpful, thanks guys. So what I'm hearing is that the Raptor requires PSI adjustments, while pretty much every other car, SUV and truck on the road can tackle this stuff without a problem. I can appreciate that, actually, as the Raptor is a different beast. Just so we're clear, these were...

Washboard Dirt Roads = Major Problems

OK, so what's wrong with my truck (or the driver)? It's a brand new 2019 SCREW, less than 5,000 miles logged so far. I've had it all over Colorado, including on relatively steep offroad terrain, mountain passes, in some late season snow at elevation, heavy rain, highways at 100+ mph, Starbucks...

    2019 Raptor oil change

Put on a Fumoto drain valve while you’re at it. Inexpensive and will make Oil Change 2 much easier.

Yep, same for me. I just put the 3.0 in last weekend.

2019 raptor tune MPT or COBB

I’m waiting for Cobb as well. Rush to market and make a few bucks or take your time and ensure the product functions as intended and won’t cause problems? I know which philosophy I appreciate.

GEN 2 How to get rid of "Network Connection Needed" prompt?

Yeah, so annoying Ford! I’ll try the USB method.

    Windshield sunshade

Good question. I haven’t had that issue so far and was told that it’s an extremely durable product, but I don’t have enough time with it yet to comment intelligently.

    Windshield sunshade

I went with a clear carbon ceramic film. Pricier than a shade, but equally effective and you don’t have to mess with it.

I’m not a fan of the decals either, but of the two, No. 2 looks better.

    Best Tint For Heat

Timely discussion. When I dropped my truck off this morning for PPF, ceramic coating, and tint, I was advised against doing the sunroof. They said they do it all of the time at the customer’s request and that it would likely be a nonissue, but they wouldn't warranty the work. The film soaks up...

    2019 Raptor Intel

I’ve had a good experience with Ford. Placed my order in November, 11/7 I believe. The dealer told me not expect much action over the holidays and pegged mid-March as the likely delivery window. I’ve checked build status through Ford Performance 3-4 times during the process. The information...

    Aftermarket Wheels

I see most people on here dislike the KO2s and BFGs. Any other tires in this size with less weight that I should look at? I see Cooper has a couple of options. I'll run dedicated snow tires in the winter, so I'm looking for a good A/T option that is relatively quiet and comfortable on the...

    Aftermarket Wheels

Very helpful, thank you. Looking at 20x11 ET+14 wheels with 35x1250x20 Nitto Ridge Grapplers. Not sure if that's too much extra weight with the tires. Wheels would be slightly lighter than the stockers, even at the larger width and diameter.
