GEN1 Shifter Clicks Crunches Grinds Gets Stuck 2010-2014 F150 2009-20014

Same thing happened to my shifter about 6 years ago, that tab broke off. I cleaned it, and used 2 part epoxy to glue it back together, with the spring tension off to let it dry, left it for a day, and hasn't been a problem since.

    GEN 1 Power steering problem

100% you blew the pump. Now, heres where it all gets a little hard to swallow. You could get a new pump, or, get an upgrade. These pumps are garbage, albeit, easy to install, but they suck. Save your pennies for an upgrade, (I just ordered a Lee kit) and enjoy problem free steering, well...

Gen 2 Tailgate For Gen 1?

Having any substantial load in the Gen 2 beds has been causing the supports to weaken, lowering the bed into the frame. If you see anyone running a rack in the bed of the rigs, the spot to point out is the bed/frame interface where an aftermarket bump stop kit would go. The inner wheel wells...

2012 Steering rack needs replacing…Ford says part is obsolete

Sorry for the late reply brother, been a usy few weeks. If you have the room, pick up a rack from a wreckers, and have it serviced by a rack rebuild shop. Thats what I did sans the spare rack as I am a citiot. Any rack repair specialist should be able to cover it with no issues, I have a guy...

2012 Steering rack needs replacing…Ford says part is obsolete

This is a common issue with the older trucks, They do indeed use a discontinued rack. Just get it rebuilt as it will be significantly cheaper. The hoses changed on the newer rack, as did the hose interface to the pump. So, saying that, if you are pulling the rack, get the pump rebuilt too.

    shaky ride

Sounds like a wheel imbalance issue to be honest, but, out of curiosity, do you have aftermarket wheels on it? If so, you will need some hub centric spacers to eliminate the imbalance. The wheel nuts are centric, but not enough to completely eliminate the is alignment.

Time for UCAs. Keep it stock or upgrade to aftermarket?

Because of salt and other garbage they throw on the roads up north, personally, I went with OEM style. Uniballs dont like corrosion, and if you D.D. your rig, they will burnout quick. The MOOG OEM replacements are the exact same as the motocraft for a fraction of the cost. Ive got about 15000...

New Fox 2.5s and Geiser springs on the way. Anything else I need or should be ordering?

I used Moog uppers, and I went with the Moog lower bushings. Those bushings are these: http://www.moog-suspension-parts.com/moog-k200366 They immediately improved the performance of the truck, but they were a total c*nt to put in, i mean, you will be saying every swear word imaginable if you...

New Fox 2.5s and Geiser springs on the way. Anything else I need or should be ordering?

OOF! In tht case you may wanna go up, to my knowledge you cant fit 37's without fenders. Any small amount of offroad and you will be blowing the flares off. This truck has a substantial amount of travel, and it isnt until you really beat on it that it actually shows. At speed the truck rips...

New Fox 2.5s and Geiser springs on the way. Anything else I need or should be ordering?

Kinda sucks to tell you now, but the 2017 rear shocks fit just fine on the rear of the truck, and provide significantly detter damping than the 2.5's. Put the Progressives on the lower perch, so it minimizes grenading the seals on the front shocks. not forget to put a new top bushing on as...

Honestly, if its a lifter, it possibly could. Mine just took a **** outta nowhere, no warning at all. They are hydraulic in nature, and when it went, it was during start up, I heard a crunch and then tic. Def entirely possible it just **** the bed

Front end squeak after new shock install

make sure you check the shock bodies for clearance. Did you adjust more preload into the coils? sounds like a coil bind onto the body, so id check for wear spots. There really arent many spots for the stock suspension components to make that noise unless something is seriously installed...

    Raptor Wave

Nail on the head, Gen 1's, always wave up here. most of the Gen 2 ers are too busy tik tok'ing their new ceramic coat for those rough mall days.

    Shock question

Those are the front bump stops for the shocks. If they look like that you may want to have your suspension serviced. Otherwise: https://sdhqoffroad.com/collections/fox-shocks-10-14-ford-raptor-oem-rebuild-kits/products/fox-0-875-shaft-bumper-front-shock grab a pair of these, and have em...

Passenger side marker tail light almost gone.

The install is rediculously easy, light body just sits in the outer rubber housing, simply get a pry tool to pry the led out of the rubber housing, remoe rubber housing from bed side, un clip connection, put new one in.

    Geisers vs stock

Maybe I just got a bad one, after some offroading, one of my shocks began to leak pretty badly. Hopeful you dont have the same issue. But that a solid one on the shocks. The truck will feel completely different with them. If you havent installed em yet, throw some 3m clear vinyl on the...

    Geisers vs stock

If you do aftermarket springs, I would suggest getting your shocks rebuilt and having a seal upgrade as well. I had mine on the lower perch with geisers, and it blew the hell outta my seals in the shocks. It sucks getting new springs only to have to take em back off and clean them after the...

Best place to order OEM rear shocks?

Maybe a little late, but the '17 shocks fit perfectly fine, all you need to do to make it look factory is get a blow dryer, and heat up the stickers on one to mount to the other side of the shock, and it'll look great. do it with really clean hands tho. and, they are a little bit longer and a...

Advice: Gen 1 4WD Actuator and Axle Change

definitely doesnt need to be offroading for the cv to take a dump. the boots are extremely fragile on the oem and even aftermarket axles. In my memory, im pretty sure rpg offers replacement boot kits which elimoinates this issue
