I'm sure it would run fine on both. Manual says minimum 87 octane, although not sure why you would purchase such an expensive vehicle just to hold it back by saving a few pennies on lower octane fuel.
OT but I think the dealership must have put 89 octane in when they filled it up ... my first fill up the other day was 93 octane and it smoothed things out quite a bit.
Also keep in mind that people will post problems, but won't post their vehicle was reliable today.
Compared to how many F150's being made there seem to be very few problems. It sucks when they pop up but reliability is the normal and issues are infrequent.
