I posted about this in a thread "Titled whirring sound on deceleration", but for convenience I'll post it here for you. Took the truck to my local dealer because I had a rattle that sounded like it was coming from under the truck in the back at about 900-1200 RPM. They said it sounded like it...
What is there to advise? It is a known issue that effects some, not all, and is fixable. If it happens, you can get it fixed, live with it or get rid of the truck. What are you afraid of exactly?
You just have to decide your level of comfort. Ford says the cam phaser issue will not damage the...
I replaced my muffler with the Flowmaster FX, https://www.holley.com/products/exhaust/exhaust_systems/flowmaster/flowfx/parts/717776, and it solved the rattle as well. Thanks for the info.
Closing the loop on the thread. I ordered and installed myself the Flowmaster FlowFX muffler and the noise is indeed gone. Here's the one I ordered, https://www.holley.com/products/exhaust/exhaust_systems/flowmaster/flowfx/parts/717776.
It has a bit throatier sound than stock but is not at all...
I hadn't seen this post before. Evidently this is a known issue.

Same issue here, a metallic rattle coming from the passenger rear area at 900-1200 RPM once it has warmed up. My dealer told me it was something loose in the muffler, but not in warranty because I'm outside the bumper to bumper. Now I'm trying to decide which aftermarket exhaust to go with...

Here is my noise (phone just laying on the ground under the truck, not pointing toward the...
ok, well I dropped by the service department once the truck was warm and two techs came out to listen. They feel that it is something inside the muffler, such as a broken baffle or something. It is coming from under the truck and doesn't seem to be a lose clamp, shield etc. They have heard it...
I've read about the wastegate, not sure what I'd be looking for honestly. I took it in yesterday, played the video for them but then they couldn't get it to happen, although they admitted they didn't drive it very far so perhaps it wasn't warmed up enough. But they told me to drop by anytime it...
Ok so I am able to hear the noise when it is parked as well, as it turns out. It seems to be coming from underneath the truck and not in the engine bay. I don't feel anything loose, like an exhaust clamp, but can't be certain. The link is to a YouTube of the noise I made with my phone.
Ok, I posted my question right before I went off for a week of vacation so sorry it has taken me so long to get back.
Putting it in 4A made no difference. It has definitely gotten louder, but doesn't record well due to cabin noises, etc., on my phone. I've decided to have it checked out at...
Not that I've noticed, but they are getting close to needing replacing. Next on my list. I'll give the 4a a try after work. If it is an IWE it goes away in 4wd, is that correct?
Recently I've begun to hear a whirring sound when decelerating that seems to be coming from the passenger side on my '18 Screw. I think it is up front, but can't be certain. It is independent of braking, but always happens when slowing down, typically at lower speeds (<45mph perhaps). The best...
I've had my BD SAE's installed for 10 months now. Bought them last Black Friday but didn't get them until after Christmas due to their redesign. Here is my experience with them. Since they are based on the Squadron Sport, there is no issue of quality or performance. They have functioned...
I did another oil change this week at 12k miles. The dealer did one at 8k back in October at the 1 year service. I drained 5.7 quarts from the oil pan and of course there was some in the filter. I was pleased to see that it doesn’t seem to be consuming oil at the “acceptable rate” or at all...
Changed the oil today at 12k mi. The last change was in October at the 1 year dealer service. I had about 8k then. I drained 5.7 quarts plus what was in the filter. No significant oil consumption it seems, at this time anyway. There was more detritus in the catch can than I had previously...
Not bad at all and cleans very easily, even after more than a year. They (Adams) make a dedicated wheel ceramic now but I’ve not tried it.

Finally had the time to install the BD SAEs from Black Friday. My lighting plans are now complete.
Fog pockets- SAE, Squadron Pro W/C, Squadron Pro Spot
Lower Grill- OnX6+ W/C
A-pillar- XL80 spot
Sorry about the bad picture, all those lumens overpower the iPhone sensor.

I have that setup. There is some visible vibration on bumpy roads and at interstate speeds, but not excessive. It does not effect the performance of the light in any way. I didn't get free mounts when I ordered so I bought the Rigid mounts used for $30. No complaints for that $$.
