GEN 2 Got my roof wrapped black!

I wrapped the top cab of my 2014 in black vinyl 2 years ago with no issues to date. It looks good in my opinion and protects the front roof area from stone chips. To each his own but I like the look.

    1st performance mod’s

I researched many of the CAI systems and chose the Roush for fit, performance, and appearance. I also went well with the Borland Ford Racing Sport exhaust which is a very good choice for performance and sound (no drone). It's a good combination that works well together. You will also want to...

GEN 2 Gen 2 vs. Gen 1 MPG

I get between 14 to 16 mpg depending on driving habit and top highway speed (around 75). I run 89 octane gas with Lucas fuel conditioner (6.2 engine hp is 450 with current mods and tune and yes, it will light up the rear tires). City driving varies according to traffic. Overall average is...

Which to sell: Gen 1 or Gen 2?

I would keep the Gen 1. I just like the way it drives with the heaver body and V8. Mine has 66k miles and it is just getting broken in. You could probably sell the Gen 2 for a good price?

    Stock BFG tread life?

I have 41,000 miles on my stock KO2s put on in 2017 and it looks like I have another 8,000 miles left before replacing with another set. Tire wear comes down to driving style and tire maintenance. One person can go through a set of tires in 5,000 miles and another can get 50,000 miles out of...

    Was There a Time When…

I still go to the forum for Gen 1 information that is mostly very useful. I have a late production 2014 with 64k miles on the clock with enough mods to put out 450hp. I'm old school and like a big heavy steel bodied truck with big block V8 and yes, I have a hard time keeping it under 80 on...

    Got my Raptor

Nice Gen1. The fuse and transmission cooler are good upgrades - should change transmission fluid with addition of trans cooler. You may want to consider an oil/air separator (passenger side) PCV recirc line and Ford Racing rear dif cover. If you can't verify maintenance, you have a lot of...

Gray smoke from exhaust Gen 1

Most likely it is oil residue in the intake and exhaust system from the PCV system. My 2014 did the same thing when I bought it with 25k miles until I put an oil/air separator in the PCV line (passenger side). I typically get 1 to 2 ounces of oil in the catch can for every 2k miles driving...

    GEN 1 Weird Stalling Out

Upgrade the fuel pump fuse (relocation kit), inspect CAI from filter to throttle body and clean replace as needed, install a oil/air separator on the passenger side PCV line.

    GEN 2 Tire wear

I plan on getting new tires at around 5-6/32s. Currently they are at 10/32s with a little over 33k miles on them - wearing even. I bought my last tires from Discount Tire and they do the rotation and balance every 5k and air pressure checks in Fall and Winter. I plan on staying with the KO2s...

    Lucas fuel treatment anyone

I have used the Lucas fuel conditioner in my 2014 6.2 engine for over 4 years and it works great. I don’t believe it claims to increase octane in fuel but to allow lower octane use? Anyway, I use it for the injector and valve cleaning properties and upper cylinder lubrication. It works very...

    Oil Separator

Yes, I use the JLT 3oz model with no issues - plug and play. I typically empty 1 to 2 oz every 2k miles depending on how much I put my foot in the throttle. No smoke on startup and it keeps the intake and injectors clean - engine runs good.

    1,500 miles in...

I use Mobil 1 Full Synthetic Extended Service motor oil with no issues. I change it around 8,000 miles (once per year) as it is not a daily driver. I change the oil filter every 4,000 miles and top off the oil. The oil is still clear at 8,000 miles and I could probably run it longer but once...

How Long Can/Will Your Gen1 Last?

I have a 2014 with 42k miles and it is not a daily driver. I have no intention of selling or trading as it is exactly what I wanted. With proper care and maintenance, it will probably last longer than me! :-)

2012 Raptor - Recommended Performance Upgrades

I have a 2014 SVT 6.2 Raptor and have made the following upgrades: Roush CAI Borland Ford Performance Exhaust JDT Oil/Air Separator Ford Performance Rear Differential Cover B&M transmission fluid level dipstick ADD Venom Front Bumper Rigid Driving and Fog Lights BFG KO2 tire at 45psi (better...

Fuse 27 causing hard starting in the morning?

The fuse for the fuel pump either works or it doesn't. Have you checked it for scoring? The fuel pump is located in the fuel tank and uses fuel to keep it from overheating. Get in the practice of filling up when you get to half empty. It keeps your fuel pump nice and cool and doesn't hit...

Those who installed a JLT catch-can

Not needed for a 6.2 installation. FYI - you need to check the level in the catch can about every 2k miles. I waited to 3k and it was close to the top! It does it's job - cleaned up residue in exhaust and no more blue smoke when the engine starts. The engine runs better as well.

    KO2 tire life, pics

I have found that the KO2s are extremely sensitive to air pressure. Tire dealer recommended 45psi and it helped reduce both vibration and tire noise.
