I won’t buy another Raptor without the Recaro’s. Now one thing to think about. Lift your butt when getting out. Don’t slide out of the seat. You will destroy the foam and the bottom cushion alone is $1600. No you can’t get it from Recaro.
Drove the truck yesterday and today. Initial thoughts is it’s much quieter on a cold start. Quite a bit quieter under normal acceleration. Between 18-2500. Under wide open it’s just as loud as before. No DB readings yet. I’ll be doing that and videoing this afternoon.
I will keep everyone...
Just finished putting on the new HX with the Helmholtz. Initial cold start was quieter. I’ll drive it the 19mi into work tomorrow and video on my way home. Been working on the truck all weekend. I’m beat
I talked to SPD about SCAB Raptors. Like you said it will have to be custom and the trombone piping will have to be trimmed down. There isn’t a reason it would not fit, you or someone that has the skill to measure twice, cut once should be able to get it to work. SPD hasn’t produced it because...
Got it. Now we are the same page. That is weird. It may be the width difference on the LP4’s Vs XL80’s most people run. My set up is on the small side since I only run Squadron Racers and side shooter S1’s
Great info to know. I have not seen anyone else post about the wiper hitting.
Can you or do you have any pictures of the LP4’s mounted where you are saying the wiper arm hits it?
I know the LP4’s are quite a bit larger than my setup.(Squadrons) LP4’s are only 3.2” deep VS the most common light (XL80’s) that are 3.650” deep. LP4’s are wider and taller.
** Update**
I received the new HX muffler with the Helmholtz Resonator today from SPD. I did take quite a bit of video comparing interior sound levels with a DB meter with the cruise set between 65-85 on the freeway and normal driving around town (Current HX muffler). I did meet up with another...
My personal truck. Ive always wanted a set. I think Performance Blue and Gold will go together. Trying out General X3's from my current Toyo M/T's. Ill get them mounted up and take pictures when I get my new frame cut bumper on.
Travis,
You are in Houston. You have two options. TSW is in Hudo. You can call them and schedule a day for them to rebuild them. Leave Houston early in the morning. Get there when they open. Have them remove your shocks and rebuild them that day and then drive back home. one day and you...
From the way you are describing everything the factory shocks needs to be rebuilt. If you swapped out to new springs and the truck still rides ruff it’s the shocks.
The problem with people posting about “my shocks have 75K miles on them and are fine” Is if you put a brand new rebuilt shock...
