I'm running the MPT 93PRX but had to dial back the transmission tune a bit. I have friends with similar mods and the 5 star tune and personally i like the MPT 93PRX better.
Having ran the extreme system (Sport + resonator delete) with stock downpipes i can attest that it does not drone (extreme) inside the cabin, however it is incredibly loud with the windows open. Once i bumped up to SPD downpipes i tossed the FOMOCO stock resonator back on and it sounds even...
But for it not to occur without the tune loaded and then happen when the truck is tuned? I suppose that may make sense, my use of "compressor surge" is probably the wrong definition

I ended up going with the MPT tune for my truck... Other mods include: Fullrace Intake / TBS / V2 FMIC , Turbosmart BOV, SPD Adapters + Downpipes, Corsa Muffler + Tailpipes.

If you just want to cover (and not fix the underlying problem) you should check out Tuffskinz... I run their domed carbon fiber door pillar covers and personally I love the look... They make them in Matte black, gloss black and some other options.. I've done the rear and front accents as well...
I use it in between waxing the truck and it works great. Eventually i'll do a full correction and have the car coated but for now I'll stick with what i know works.
