It really was a lot of fun and a good variety of different challenges to show what all the Raptor can do, even if you don't ever push it to the extreme (which makes sense given most of the people in my class had little or no off road experience at all). There were so many times we watched the...
Others recommended Park City to me when I asked as well. I am also going in November, but had already booked SLC on a non-refundable rate so that's where we will be staying. My wife is planning to spend the day at the spa, so should be fine. We are staying at the Grand America hotel.
Generally I agree you can probably find better uses for cash than to pay down debt at 3.4% unless you just need to lower your total outstanding debt for some reason. It's also a great idea to have a good sized emergency fund, so all in all probably best not to use a large chunk of your savings...
I must be missing something. Park City is on the other side of SLC from the school. Per Google maps the drive takes twice as long from there as from SLC, at about 1 hour, 10 minutes vs about 35 minutes from SLC.
I'm going in November. Going to stay in SLC at the only nice hotel I could find. Wife is coming along and going to hang out at the spa while I'm doing the class. Looking forward to it.
Yes, old "sports" cars were slow too. I had V8 Mustangs years ago that could barely pull a 15 second 1/4 mile in stock form. They were slow. I added superchargers and forged engines and other things until they could run 11s. It was fun.
Anyone know of a weight distribution hitch that can be installed on a new trailer (as in never been installed on that trailer before) in 5 minutes or less?
Being heavy isn't always an excuse for being slow. My Tesla Model S P100DL is a 5,000lb full size sedan and still does 0-60 in 2.4 seconds and a sub 11 second quarter mile in completely stock form.
Driving a truck like the Raptor is a different kind of performance than a sports car. It really...
Seems likely. I couldn't find anything specific in the MyKey information regarding terrain modes, but doesn't seem like a coincidence. Maybe try using a different key and see if that fixes it.
I have the Bakflip MX4 and a Bed Rug bed mat. It's like a car trunk now when it is closed. No water, dust, etc. gets in. I'm very happy with it so far.
Yeah, it's ok for a truck but not quick at all compared to a sports car. It's rated at around 5.1 seconds 0-60 and 13.8 seconds in the 1/4 mile. Those numbers are almost identical to the sport version of the Ford Fusion, so not very impressive.
To me you aren't even approaching "quick" until...
I installed the Roadmaster Active Suspension on my 2018 SCREW. It did definitely help a lot with towing. Just last weekend I towed a camper trailer that was probably just under 6,000lbs without any real issues.
As far as being easily removable, it depends on what tools you have available...
I've got the Bakflip MX4. I paid the regular retail on it which was right around $1,000 I think. I've only had it about 6 weeks, but I really like it. The video on their website about it shows all the features pretty well, and it works as advertised in the video. I also added the Bakbox as...
Start by searching for places that specialize in 4 wheel drive modifications. Google is pretty good at finding that sort of place. Then check Yelp, etc. for reviews. If possible ask around on local forums or Facebook groups in your area as well.
Anyone able to figure out the part number for the roller and bolt that goes through the roller and holds it on? I need to order some extras of that bolt, but all the diagrams I see online for ordering suspension parts for the 2018 Raptor don't show that roller.
I definitely don’t have any trouble paying a fair price for labor, and would even prefer to pay a premium for high quality work. When I pay someone to do something for me, I don’t think of it as what their time is worth but rather what my time is worth.
Pretty damn on.
1) I've owned all the things you mentioned other than the Subaru and LSX.
2) Yep, I drive a Tesla P100DL daily.
3) 40 on the dot.
4) Had a Land Rover a while back, and a plain old '96 F-150 for about 15 years.
Here are some pictures of the final install and the rogue bolt. The next to last picture is the bracket where the roller was that the bolt had to come out of, right behind the shock.
