    Building an Off Road Toolbox

This thread is ANCIENT but jesus it was useful. Thanks for the all the input. I also carry an axe and (kid you not) a smaller chainsaw in the bed. Run into a number of fallen trees along unmaintained backcountry roads that a tow strap or axe wouldn't be effective enough to handle. Also...

GEN 2 Looking for new lighting

My dad has the rough country's on his truck and i have baja designs on mine (in comparable setups) and mine absolutely destroy his lumen output/lux. He also has experienced fogging in one of his lights where water got in behind the lens. Like the vendors stated above, the Baja Designs are truly...

    Feedback on Goodyear Duratrac Tires

Beyond durability, how do they perform off-road compared to the KO2's? I spend a lot of time in the Sierra in the winter and the KO2's seem decent in snow (that's without a comp to anything else), but have heard how strong Duratrac's are in snow and considering switching out when the KO2's are done.

    10 Speed Ford Tranny

Outside of the fact that my transmission blew at 400 miles, for reasons two different dealerships couldn't explain (leading me to believe that they forgot something incredibly simple like not putting in trans fluid), my new one has been fine 24K miles in. Some occasional strange activity, like...

What did you do to your Raptor today? (Gen2)

6 quarts of oil and greased the delta joints on the Icon UCAs. Is it weird to enjoy the little things like that with this truck?

    Raptor Transmission Nightmare!

My transmission completely failed after only 500 miles. Got Ford to replace it vs. repair it and haven’t had any major issues since (18,500 miles later). It’ll still downshift aggressively every once in awhile while in sport mode, but other than that it’s fine. Worst part for me is the mental...

    White Mountain Big Bear

A buddy who owns a Tacoma invited me out with his crew for Tacoma World - said screw it, why not! Me and about 6 Tacoma’s on the trail...great day, good crew and good guys. We explored about 40 miles of trail in the Big Bear area. Our goal was to hit White Mountain. Good mix of terrain - some...

    2018 or 2019 Raptor

2018 shocks are fully "mechanical" compared to the live-valve electronically controlled shocks in the 2019. I wonder if the introduction of electronics in the suspension would make moding the suspension more difficult/tedious? Might be the case that it's not an issue at all and you might not...

    California Raptor Price Fixing

I bought mine at MSRP in central CA and drove it down to LA. Searched high and wide at SoCal dealers for something at MSRP and got laughed out of the room. I had to negotiate with the dealership up north for 3 days to get it down to that point. They wanted $20K over. I did my homework and...

    Rear Height Anamoly

So i've noticed a similar anomaly on mine but front to rear rake versus side to side lean. It seems like the rake will adjust about an inch or so for any given reason at times. I've chalked that one up to a full tank of gas in the back on those skinny stock leafs. To a previous post's point, if...

    GEN 2 Transfer Case Failure

Happened about a year ago but wanted to post this for reference for others who may have experienced something similar or wondering what the f*&% happened. A little less than 500 miles on the truck (first week of ownership). Driving down the freeway at 75 and suddenly i couldn't put power to...

'18 Screw Magnetic Living in SoCal!

Hey all, Excited to introduce myself and my '18 Magnetic Screw Raptor! Picked up in April 2018 and had it for almost exactly a year now. 17,000 miles later, we've been on some awesome trips so far. This thing is an absolute dream on and off-road. Stoked to be a part of this awesome community...

    Perch Collars

My screw has 3" of rake from the factory so i just picked up 2.25" RPGs. I don't want it to end up looking like a Cali lift if i put some weight in the bed. Will post a before and after in a separate thread.
