It's a Scab, but it's the front door so I would think it would be the same for both. (As well as every other 2017+ f150.)
I've taken it to the dealer twice. The first time it came back worse. The second time was met with "it's a truck it's supposed to rattle."
Figured I'd try to fix it on my...
I'm really at a loss now how to adjust this door to keep it secured tightly against the cab without it rattling.
The thing rattles horribly, and I've deduced it is from the latch mechanism tapping lightly on the striker bar. It throws the noise though which made incredibly deceiving when trying...
Ford finally replaced the valve body cover in the transmission, and the problem has yet to return (4000 miles later). Previously I'd be back to square one after about 1000 miles.
Ford also told me it was because of aggressive driving... Was the first time in my life I almost yelled at an...
Fwiw, I tried resetting the “learned” state back to factory by disconnecting the battery and it did not work. Had it disconnected for about an hour at least.
Transmission still slammed into drive when shifting the gear selector. Still lurched between 3rd and 4th. Still had the harsh down...
Interesting!!!
Did you by chance have the issue of your truck slamming really hard into Drive? (Shifting from P/R/N into D)
I’ve spent a lot of time researching this on other forums (Mustang GT, Ford GT) and my next idea was the valve body cover. Interesting that yours was the valve itself...
What do the front springs / rear leaf replacements do for you?
Front springs purely to lift the nose? Instead of using one of those aluminum spacers?
What’s the purpose of replacing the leaf spring in the back?

This sounds pretty promising.... I’m going to try first just tightening the bolts this weekend to 35ft-lb.

If that doesn’t work I’ll try pushing the top edge of the door in a tad. It seems pretty well aligned as-is so I...
I believe these claims of no rattles. My passenger side doesn’t make a sound. Just a shame both sides aren’t like that. Even more a annoying that it’s inches away from my left ear.
If anyone has any ideas please chime in here.
I’ve been thinking about realigning the door, or trying to shift...
I have the same lurching phenomenon in my 2017. Infuriating. Resetting the learning module tames it back down, but it always comes back. The TSB did not fix it for me. (It returned)
At its peak, my truck also overpowers the braking force if I’m not heavily on the brakes. Seems like a safety...
When my door *doesn’t* rattle it SQUEAKS. It’s either rattling or squeaking, I guess depending how rough the road is. Light stuff it squeaks, heavy stuff it rattles.
Wow man, that squeak that my door does is probably the rubber coating on the striker bar. Gonna grease that thing and see if that...
I’m going to have to investigate my door to figure out what you’re getting at.
No I do not have a sunroof. Do any scabs have the sunroof?

Don’t bother taking the panel off, you won’t find anything loose. Next time you’re on the wavy pavement crack your door open and it will stop immediately.
I’m going to try putting some tape on it too. Drives me nuts.
I’m really curious why this is only the driver’s side doing it to people...
My drivers side door is obnoxious. I think it is the front door is shaking around and tapping on the striker bar. The noise reverberates right around ear level behind the seatbelt... but it’s probably lower, at the latch area in reality.
For the longest time I thought it was a rattle inside...

Six months ago I couldn't find a single other person experiencing this.
We are probably talking about something else, then. There is no way anyone could get “used” to this... way way way too harsh to just forget about.
Any time I’m driving someone for the first time, they immediately snap “wtf was that?!”
I’m seeing this pretty commonly in ford gt and mustang...
Please report back to us what they diagnose it as.
More than likely they will reset the adaptive learning strategy and send you on your way. This fixes it for about 1,000 miles before it returns.
I still can’t figure out if it’s a mechanical problem or a software problem. The pcm reset takes...
Wow, opening up my search from “raptor” to “10r80” or “mustang” brought back a ton more results. I see the valve body cover talked about pretty frequently.
