I have the McGuard one, yes $20 is cheap insurance. You can also just use a hose clamp, generally tailgate thieves don't carry tools with them so that might be enough of a deterrent. As far as the gen 2 tailgates, I have seen some stolen where they defeated the factory lock.
I have it and use it, I love it. Keeps you updated on your trucks service, current mileage, ability to remote start from ANYWHERE. I don't have a seperate data plan for my truck but it still starts.
Thanks, I do have to say I'm not to thrilled with the layout and UI of Sirius on our SYNC3 radios. It's hard to navigate, I have a hard time finding the channel listings and navigating to stations I want to hear.
I ended up taking one off the lot at another dealer for under MSRP, no loss for me, only for the dealer who took my order and failed to deliver as they lost a sale.

From what I can tell it won't be scheduled until a VIN is assigned. So your best bet is call Ford Performance, give them your order code and dealer code and they can tell you the exact status. If a VIN has been assigned then they will also be able to give you that info.
