:slap: What’s your mechanical background again? There’s a difference between shifting out of neutral because you’re impatient and shifting out of neutral because the truck is erroneously telling you everything is good to go.
In my case, I know at least three mechanics checked my truck out (myself, the Carmax tech, and a Ford tech), so I don’t think using 4WD improperly is the issue. It’s theroetically possible the previous owner screwed it up, but I don’t think so since 1) the truck was still under factory warranty...
Granted, I don't live in NYC, but I did briefly consider a JL since a loaded one was going to cost as much as my '14 Raptor. I went with the Raptor because:
1) safety
2) features/creature comforts
3) interior space
4) whereas the Raptor does many things well, IMHO, the Wrangler is more of a...
It's purely cosmetic and shouldn't hurt anything. That said...geez! I've never seen a new truck that bad. Shoot, most of the 10-year-old used trucks we get in at work aren't that rusty.
I don't know about the newer trucks, but my '14 SCrew doesn't seems to be fairly well sealed up between the rear wall and seat back. Be careful about lack of ventilation for your amp(s).
When I went to SE Arizona in 2016, it seemed like almost 1/3 of the USBP vehicles I saw were Raptors. Being from Tennessee, it was actually pretty interesting how many Raptors in general were on the road once I hit West Texas, compared to back home.
I wouldn't get either, just because they're both New England vehicles. But, that's probably not an option for you. Of the two, I would likely go with the '14 due to the remaining factory warranty and newer features. However, out of boredom I pulled their Carfaxes, and it is worth pointing out...
Carmax is a good option and where I just bought my '14 at. However, you might have good luck searching cars for sale on Carfax's website. In your situation, I would run a search for one-owner vehicles and possibly those with no accidents. Before I knew the difference between years, I found a...
I took the truck to Carmax on the 12th and got it back on the 22nd. Since it's still under warranty, they sublet it to Ford (which I expected). Ford couldn't give me a reason why the transfer case failed, but it more or less ate itself. They replaced it with a new transfer case; having to order...
After doing a search, I found plenty of people with similar but opposite problems, but only one person with this exact problem. Rather than bump an old thread where he wasn't the OP, I figured I'd start a new one.
I bought my '14 SCrew with 54k miles on Sunday. This evening while coming up...
Beat you up? Shoot, after growing up in a Toyota family and only owning Toyotas myself, I still want to beat myself up for buying a Ford.
I think you're being smart about your decision. The only way I would buy a high mileage Raptor ( >100,000 miles), would be if it had a clean Carfax...
I was looking hard at a Tundra TRD Pro, but 1) I'm not crazy about the colors they come in and 2) I'm disappointed in how slow Toyota's been to update them. I ultimately ended up going with a '14 SCrew in Ruby Red with 54,000 miles. I wanted air conditioned seats and the Raptor has much better...
