Cam phasers were replaced on my 2018. Team Ford here in Vegas sheared the bolt off during the process. Dealer replaced the head instead of drilling and tapping. I thought that was odd but your experience may explain why.

That sucks! I had mine done about 3 mo ago. They pulled the cab to access. They replaced a head too because dealer snapped bolt off while removing the high pressure fuel pump...that's what I was told. Everything was covered under warranty otherwise it would have been approx $12K.

Discount here in Vegas said if I left them on, They would probably scratch the rings. I took them off with no problems. I reinstalled them prior to balancing the tires.
