The GT makes almost 650 HP on the 3.5HO EB. I’m guessing there is a laundry list of things different compared to the Raptor 3.5, BUT definitely possible to get more power out of her. Ford doesn’t need to beat the TRX HP numbers on paper...just make theirs perform better in a full package.
Give me an Scab, a great suspension that is built for off-road but I can still tow and hold a decent payload and use as an actual 1/2 ton work truck, badass stereo. Whatever the motor option is doesn’t need to be 700+ HP, but be perfectly engineered for all components...
I feel that Ford will not go with the 7.3 option for the Gen 3 because the current Gen 2 has a great power to weight ratio and I don’t see them stuffing a massive 7.3 in there. Personally I don’t want anything that is N/A either, the way boost delivers power is amazing whether that be turbos or...
My .2, Ford has an awful lot of $$ invested in R&D into the Ecoboost motors trying to get away from V8’s excluding Mustangs and HD Diesels. My guess is that even the 5.0 will be soon removed from the line up. I THINK you’ll see an electric Raptor before Ford goes back to a V8 offering. Also, I...
When putting your new CAI in did you happen to remove these from the factory tubes and transfer to the new setup? It was driving me nuts when I bought the AMS charge pipes along with the S&B CAI whether or not they were supposed to be left in or removed, until I had multiple emails with...
I ceramic coated my rear wheel wells before installing the liners. There’s no way you will be able to clean them 100% after installed. In my mind the ceramic coating and the truck being aluminum will delay the rotting process. I can’t prove it, but I still
Don’t think you’re going to see the...
I did not experience this, mine fit just like the factory connections did. The pic I added below is the factory set up. Are your connections in this order? Not the best pic/angle, but I took this for my reference when I installed.
I would think those rings would cause the intake to be louder as the air hitting the fins. But I’m pretty sure that where the passenger side oem pipe was flared out and contained what I’m going to call an intake muffler that looked like an internal air filter was there for noise reduction. Does...
I just installed my AMS pipes yesterday. In this picture it looks like you did not swap the factory vortex fins over from the factory pipes into the AMS housing. They fit on the inside of the driver/passenger side pipes closest to the airbox and is an additional piece of round plastic that would...
I haven’t ran multiple tunes from the different manufacturers, but I have the Whipple stage 1 and love it... especially after the last update I just received.
You are probably going to get a ton of suggestions and they will all be personal preference. The real questions to start with are: 1) what would you like to achieve with your truck? And 2) how much extra money do you have. Reading through these forums can have you wanting to spend thousands...
the update feels much stronger just like the original did, if you read through this thread you will see someone else posted that their update a few months ago had said it felt less powerful than the original tune I received from Whipple in 2017. This latest update (9-26-19) feels as it should...
Thinking about adding the AMS pipes to go with my S&B intake.... only thing holding me back is others talking about the thin plastic and buckle where the clamps go.
No issues with my Whipple tune. It’s a pain but I do email Whipple every 6 months to ask if there are any updates pcm/tcm. Wish they had an auto email that notified us of any updates available. Also I do agree with someone else on this thread that said their original Whipple tune felt stronger...
Mike H. Any update on pics with the 2.25 kit? I am between the 1.5 and 2.25 kit. I am looking to get it as close as possible to level, but the rear slightly higher in the rear is ok. I do not want to be nose high. Thanks
