Sadly I'm not really feeling the Ford love anymore.

Damn that is horrible! My 19' transmission broke 3 times before the first oil change. I traded it in for a Roush Super Duty with the 6 speed. Mine did exactly what you described. One time it shifted itself into 1st on the highway with the cruise set at 70mph!

    Mil-Spec F150

It looks very aftermarket. Not especially pretty. Id rather pay less for a Raptor or pay the same for Roush Super Duty powerstroke (which i did).

Genuine life expectancy for the Gen1?

The Gen 1 Raptors will probably last 3-4x longer than the Gen 2. They are built much simpler and honestly, more heavy duty. Take care of it, do all the maintenance work and replace parts as needed, don't let repairs add up! And i see no reason it wont go 500k. The gen 2? Oh man. MAYBE 120k and...

Why does everyone hate the B&O stereo?

Compare it to the B&O system in an Audi or BMW and its not even close. Actually not even as good as the base system in a base model BMW. Its not great.

GEN 2 Debating on trading high mile raptor or keeping ?

You should get a super duty diesel if you drive that much. They hold value with high mikes wnd are awesome to drive too. Not sporty fun like the Raptor more like capable fun. I can crush anything type of fun

    Stay away from 2017s?

Ko2s are probably the best mix of good ride, handling, quiet road noise and off road grip. Pretty durable too. I don't think there is really anything better right now. The only thing i have against the Ko2 is rain. They just don't grip well in rain. Otherwise what an awesome tire. They come in...

    Stay away from 2017s?

That is one of the things they replaced actually.

    Stay away from 2017s?

My issues were all electrical related. Not mechanical. Fluid was clean and clear. No mechanical damage. They replaced valve bodies, crontrol units and complete transmissions. Kept having issues.

    Stay away from 2017s?

Normally i would think so but going from a V8 to the V6T was HUGE and risky. I bet QC was extreme on the first year launch. They knew it was going to be very hard to convince people on the Ecoboost already. Just my theory! My 2017 was awesome! My 2019 drove better but was a POS nightmare that...

Stuck wide open woohoo!! Damn that would be scary!

    Stay away from 2017s?

You could always swap to a metal pan of you have an issue. Not a huge job at all.

    Stay away from 2017s?

17 is the first year but i think they had to prove all the new tech. Monster ecoboost and 10 speed. My 2017 was flawless and i i had one of the first ones out. 28000 miles totally flawless. My 2019 was the opposite. 3 transmissions before the 1st oil change. The 3rd one was acting up too when i...

I built some drawers under my rear seat

That looks really cool! Keep in mind the F250 has a WAY better storage under the rear seat vs the stock F150/Raptors. I'm sure the parts would probably bolt right on the Raptor. Made to store lots of tools just no drawer.

    Drive Control Malfunction

Agreed. The dealer may have traded for the vehicle. Its not uncommon at all to have even a few hundred miles new on the lot. I can say, owning 3 Raptors, In stock form i don't think there is anything you can do on a "joy ride" that would hurt the truck or cause that warning. You can beat the...

Not a fan of the 10 speed Tranny

Not a fan of the 10 speed Tranny

There is a class action suit. Not sure the results of if its final yet. I would say that you should absolutely not tune these trucks and risk voiding transmission warranty. Even with warranty mine kept failing. If i i w tuned, i'd be out about 30k or more in repairs!

Not a fan of the 10 speed Tranny

I loved that tranny until i 3 of them broke on me within 2000 miles. Shifting into 1st on the highway at 70mph on its own, slipping out of 6th, not catching at all, and oil everywhere! All that on stick tune, new 19. My 17 was great. No issues with 27k. That said, i can never trust it after my...

    Tranmission Finally Got Me

    Tranmission Finally Got Me

I think its actually pretty unlikely there is a mechanical issue with the transmission. They are built very solid. These are not like the old automatics. The inside of the transmission is literally filled with wires and solenoids. There is a very good chance its electronic. The valve body is all...

    Tranmission Finally Got Me

I don't know man. I'd think that would be a piece of cake. Tune makes more power. More load on the drivetrain. Probably the easiest thing ever to prove in court.

    Tranmission Finally Got Me

Trade the truck in. Ford warranty (if covered) replaces the transmissions with refurbished parts. I had mine done 3 times and kept breaking. It was never right again once it broke. If you have to pay out of pocket, you may be doing it over and over again. Trade it in for a new one if its still...

    Tire rotation

No way! The rears wear out so fast on those trucks. Don't rotate them. Once you need new rears just buy 1 tire. Use the spare tire as the other. Fronts will last 3x longer than the rears on the Raptor. Why wear them all out?

    2019 transmission slipping

Mine broke 3 transmissions before the first oil change. Traded for a Roush F250 with powerstroke 6.7 and 6 speed. I have much more confidence in my new truck. The Raptor was fun when it worked.
