Nope, I just kind of yolo'd through it. It wasn't the bed. Axle seemed symmetrical, techs couldn't figure it out. So who knows. Have you been able to fully cycle the rear suspension? Is the bump-can dinged?
Dealing with the cam phaser now...
I'm going to ask the obvious, but have you actually checked to see if the truck fits or are you assuming it wont? Maybe go down on a Sunday with an unladen truck and scope it out with a spotter. You may be worrying for not. Having said that, I am sympathetic to the butt pucker that are parking...
Wait until winter and hit the beach on LBI. You can basically drive the whole length of the island. The southern part in winter is damn near abandoned. If you're smart and keep your eyes peeled, you can open the truck up a bit. Or you can do what I did and move to the desert and buy some guns...
Truck drove fine. The biggest issue was interference between the spring pack and the bump can. They warrantied the bump can, which just ended up getting mangled again. From what I can surmise, no truck are tracking crooked, even with the axle off. I just disagree that most are due to a bed issue.
Hope it works. They told me literally the same thing. Moved the bed and had to respray the bed. Told me they had fixed my truck and tried some Jedi mind-trick stuff. Didn't really fix much.
At this moment no one has been able to tell me what is off, axle, frame or spring pack, and I can't figure it out myself. There is no fix at this time. If you do come up with a solution, let us know.
I'm the guys whose truck spent two weeks at the dealership due to this. They're leaving the factory like this. I was originally worried I broke my truck, but nope, two new, off the train, trucks had the same thing. Ford was basically like, if it tracks straight and the driveshaft is aligned...
Did my first desert run with the Eibachs. Fast gravel and some whoops.
1) The extra spring rate and height are a god-send for the skid plate.
2) Much less floaty and more planted, at least in the front.
3) The bounce. The spring rate is on point, but in a perfect world, the front...
Don't fret, my man. The added stiffness is a welcomed addition, feels a bit more planted, but in no way harsh.
Do raise the truck considerably, may be a tad past level.
I'm curious to see how these work out > Fox's new 3.0 DSC Coilovers and QAB Bypass rear shocks with Finned reservoirs
Saw them at the offroad expo in Scottsdale, and it's a really nice piece of kit.
Let me know if they figure anything out. They had my truck for over a week and were unable to diagnose the issue, though they were in 100% in agreement that there was an issue.
