The Gen1 sound is a little different, it's delayed. The sound is a a couple seconds after truck is running.
A video of mine is below.
Clunk is at 9 seconds. It’s not as loud as it usually is and I think this is due to it not being very warm today. Btw truck had been sitting for at least a...
It's the ac compressor. One way to test is to change the remote start settings to use the last setting and not auto. Then turn on the face vents, heat to max, and make sure a/c light is off and front defroster is off. Remote start it and the compressor should stay off and not make the sound...
Did you pull the hvac fuse and let it set for about 30mins? I replaced one of my blend actuators on my Explorer and it wouldn't blend properly until I removed the fuse and let the system reset. Once the fuse was inserted back and engine was turned on, the hvac does a relearn on all the actuators.
Add me to the list, about 7k street queen miles and my front passenger is leaking. Mine were done by werebuildshocks.com. I also checked the nitrogen psi with a no leak gauge and they all measured 215psi fully decompressed.
I also tried to contact the builder and they never got back to me.
My '13 does the same exact things you are describing and I had my shocks rebuilt less than 4k miles ago. I'm on mid perch with stock springs (geiser's in a box waiting to be installed) and my truck is also a street queen with zero offroading. I thought it was a bad rack and pinion or outter tie...
I just fixed the issue on my Explorer. I found it was a park switch in the shifter column was acting up. Pretty much during remote start the switch would tell the computer that the car was trying to be taken out of park before key was turned to run. How I found it was it would also alarm out and...
Good to hear! Is there a list I need to get on? I'll be removing my front shocks soon to fix a small oil leak and would love to have a set of these springs during reinstall
Not on my Raptor, but I do randomly get this in my 2011 Explorer Limited. As soon as I get in and shut the door it turns off, but it doesn't do this everytime. I have the remote start set at 15mins and I'm getting in at about the 10min mark.
Good write up sj-CHI. I was very hesitant replacing my stock shocks with rebuilt 2.5's, because I had a bad experience doing 2.0's on my FX4. Turns out, the Raptor is by far the easiest vehicle I've ever replaced coilovers on. I think it's due to the length of the lower control arm and how far...
HID bulbs do dim with usage. Stock 100k mile bulbs will be a lot dimmer than new ones. The stock bulbs are Osram 66340 HBI's and I replaced my 90k mile HBI's with Osram 66340 CBI. I noticed a big difference in brightness on my Raptor, but that was due to the age of the stockers. The CBI's are...
I agree, I choose lower perch and changed it to mid during install.
They did charge me a refinishing fee of $250 which I thought was crap. They said it was because my stock ones had rust and would need to be cleaned and refinished but the ones I received were in the same condition as my...
Congrats!
I went with the guys below. You initially pay a deposit/core and when ready they send you a rebuilt set with the options of your choosing. Once installed you ship them back your stock ones. However, they have a pretty long wait list. I waited 7 weeks and you also have to pay for...
Mine does that same thing when turning and hitting a bump. The wandering is weird, at slow speeds the steering is tight and tracks straight but at higher speeds it gets play in the steering wheel which makes it hard to keep it tracking straight. It's had 2 alignments in the last 3 months and...
My 2013 terrain supercrew with 85k miles was $38k, but talked them down to $36k because during the test drive I mentioned that the shocks seemed bad and needed to be replaced.
After purchase I replaced the following: rebuilt all four shocks (~$1200 after options, me installing), rack & pinion...
My stock bolts haven't seen a winter yet, but wanted to change to stainless before the snow hits. I called Method and they wouldn't work with me for some reason. I found them and bought them from the link below. I also found them at tirerack as well but without free shipping they cost more...
I had the clunk too. Had my shocks rebuilt and changed to the longer shanked lower shock mount bolt. This partially got rid of the sound. I found that the passenger side exhaust manifold heat shield had broke loose of the front mount and was making sounds too.
They didn't have the spherical...
