The dealership replaced a wire harness that had been routed too close to exhaust and had been melting the wires. The codes they were eventually able to pull led them to SSM 47097:
"2017-2018 F-150 – All Engines – No Crank/No Start, Multiple Illuminated Warning Indicators And/Or DTC’s – Built...
Driving down the road yesterday in my 2017 SCREW and after switching from Weather to Normal driving mode, the truck flipped out and shut down. All of the electronics went offline, the truck shut off, and I ended up rolling to a stop on the side of the road. It wasn't wet or raining, but the...
I wanted to keep it as long as possible, for better reception the further I got from town.
I cut the 6" or so off the top, popped the corona ball off that piece and put it back on the shortened stock antenna. It clears the cab of my truck without hitting the garage when I pull in, and I...
Damn, that sucks man!
I've been thinking about getting a dash cam, and your story made me wonder if there's one that could be recording while parked or perhaps triggered to record while parked if some movement were to happen.
Sorry it happened. Thanks for sharing.
They might even if you don’t... Had one take a key and scrape a big X across both windows of a Camaro I had, and I was being very cordial.
That was a TX trooper though...
Msb.19d - Agree. The frame horn chops look best. The ADD is sick, but I’m still diggin that enforcer. SVC is nice too...
I’d like to get one myself but have a little trepidation as I don’t fully understand how it’d affect warranty and other things of similar nature.
I got a spray in...
Thanks for the reply Bailey.
The two wires you already see connected are, in fact, the two wire harnesses sent with the fog pocket kit I ordered. I removed the nut and put them there, but wasn't sure if that would be a good ground point. That's when I stopped and reached out...
I'd love...
Yeah, I've seen that one and have been thinking of using it, but will have to extend the upfitter wire or split my harness to do so.
Was just wondering if the intent when coming up with harness (Baja Designs 64-0093) was to extend upfitter wire, split the harness, or perhaps to use a ground...
Yeah, I'm going to drop it and run wires that way.
It's the BD upfitter wire harness kit. I'd either have to split the harness or extend the upfitter wire (which is the direction I'm leaning) to ground there.
Gotcha.
Yeah, the kit I bought came with wiring to connect with 2 upfitter switches, but it's three pair of lights. I think it'd cost ~$90 to get another harness and splitter if I wanted to use 3 switches.
I'm good with two for now...
Hey Bailey,
Did y'all have a specific ground point in mind when you designed the squadron and S2 upfitter harness? The instruction doesn't specifically call any one point out, but I can't help but wonder with the way the harness is designed...
Where did you ground on y'alls truck? You have...
Thanks SpeedJunkie.
I saw that ground and a couple others, but nothing great in close proximity to where the upfitter wiring is that could be used without modifying the wiring or the harness. That is, except the stock wire harness mount bolts that I circled in the initial post.
I like the...
For those of y'all that used the BD wire harness kit to connect squadron or S2 with the upfitter switches, how did y'all run the wires?
Did you run back along the frame, following the brake line toward the rear of the passenger wheel, then up and behind the fuse box? Or did you run between...
