Well, my 2017 SCAB is just under 18,000 miles as well.............Oh wait, mine has one less zero than that one! And it would take almost twice that price to wrangle it away from me.........
Well, extra leafs can be a crapshoot depending on the shop, Deavers are the go to but pricey, this works for me and is adjustable............each to his own.
Have a Merry Christmas.
Roadmaster update. RAS set with the white space (20% - of what?) and it works great. With #525 tongue weight and around #4,250 loaded trailer weight - squat is minimal - also use a E2 Fastaway WD hitch - handles and feels great.
Not part of the recall. March 2017 build date. Another Hitachi MC and a new booster put in Aug. 2020........very soft pedal feel still.......... Still less than 12k miles!
You are likely over the payload rating though.............
Check your yellow tire loading sticker on the driver's door frame.
That value, less trailer tongue weight (and that #700 spec'd is "dry"), less all 4 occupants, less dogs, less gear....................
I'm going thru this now with a...
Late update.............about 3 months after the "fix" above.
Dealer seems to have forgot to tighten up the brake lines at the master cylinder...........
Had brake fluid squirting all over the place.
Fun & games
All seems good now, though the soft pedal as compared to my other (numerous)...
Believe that rubber roller sitting on top of the leaf springs - right under the RAS coil spring is supposed to be removed for this application?
Edit - Verified per Roadmaster instructions..........rollers should come off.
I just installed these (3611) on my '17 SCAB for travel trailer duty (#500 tongue and #4,500 +/- trailer weight) and was a bit surprised with an unhitched 1 1/2" rear rise using the white (thin) spacer. Truck is all stock - rear went from 41" to 42 1/2" at the top of the rear fenderwells...
PSA for the dim-witted (me!)
When installing, at the point it calls for a pry bar under the back right of the console to lift, don't go under the console more that about 2 inches as there are numerous wires and expensive looking electronic modules under there.............DAMN!
Appears all is...
Well, ready to go...........pretty quick compared to the "back-ordered - no ETA" initial report for the booster.
Replaced the master cylinder and the brake booster. Bled the brakes.
I'll pick it up tomorrow.
EDIT - picked it up - all good so far.
Pedal feels better than it did on day...
No, apparently not caused by contaminated fluid...............
It seems the problem may be the single cup Hitachi master cylinder which has a single seal in the bore, versus dual seals attached to the piston.
"Ford F-150 built between the years of 2013-2018 are equipped with master cylinders...
Weird.................
From the NHTSA:
https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/202...0V332-1472.PDF
"Investigation of field return parts found the causes of the brake fluid leak to be
brake fluid contamination that could interfere with rear cup seal function or, to
a lesser extent, rolling of the...
Thanks - it was a bit hairy!
FYI - There are around 300,000 2014-2017 EcoBoost 3.5 F-150s currently subject to a recall for this. Latest build date for the recalls is Aug 2016...................currently.
Believe that could include some early Gen2 Raps......?
My VIN shows no current recalls - 3/2017 build date..............(brake recalls (2) were 2014-2017 models though earlier build date than mine) Dealer instructions / parts pending (Q4 2020) for the 2nd recall.
Less than 5,000 miles on it (Yeah, I know - I have/had a company vehicle)
I estimate...
I can't seem to edit my original sales post for a price drop...? There is not an "Edit" button showing.
I've tried both in FireFox (problematic with this site in numerous ways) as well as Explorer.
