Adjust it to Mid perch and be done with it. Ive had mine set on Mid since I bought the truck in 2012 with no negative results. I never even had it re-alligned and its fine.

You may be right, but what better way to mimic some of those problems than to short wires out that go to the door switches, windows, speakers, and lock modules.

Check the wires inside the rubber loom that goes between your door frame and door. You may have to cut some of the tape loose in order to see the broken ones but I'd bet that is what the issue is.

Just to update: I just got off the phone with Morrie and he took care of me as I expected he would. He acknowledged that the VP is known to have issues and mine lasted longer than most. He said they are lucky to get a year out of them normally! I was ready to upgrade and try a different style...

Just to update this thread: I ended up taking the truck to the dealer for service for other issues which I hate doing. I had them look into the reverse light issues at the same time. As it turns out, the computer detected "non factory wiring" in the reverse light circuit and it shut down that...

I have also had issues with mine. i purchased one of the first ones off the line in '12 and I really like it but now the adhesive has failed and the foam is soaked with water and heavy. Even worse, it freezes in the winter, expands, and can't be folded at all unless it thaws out in the garage...

Smart. I'm a super big maintenance guy with the trailer hubs. I guess it's no guarantee I'll never have an issue but I would just rather work on it at home than on the side of the road. I don't carry a spare setup with me. Hope that doesn't screw me now!
