You can also pull the switch from the dash and insert a jumper in the back of the switch. Takes about 20 minutes. You don’t need FORScan if you’re not comfortable with it. I jumpered it before they found the FORScan code.
I lived with it for several months , but it was just too annoying. I’m...
I tow a 32’ camper, about 6200#. With a properly-adjusted WDH, I have about 1” of squat. Tows just fine. Didn’t want to modify the suspension in any way, and I’ve had no complaints.
The key is following the hitch setup exactly. In conjunction with the right tongue weight and a sway bar, the...
Thanks, that first link helped me figure out what to search and read up on.
What I’m really wanting to do is play with the gauges and figure out what I should be monitoring. I’ve got IAT1 and IAT2 up to see how the intercooler is working, Knock and Spark to see how these are relating, and...
I’m going to admit my ignorance to much of this. I’d love to learn more about the different displays, and I’m willing to read more about it, but there isn’t much out there on what to look for when reading the various gauges. Is there a good reference anyone can point me to that expains what the...
Yep, those are the three I'm using, pretty much for the same reasons. I kept the transmission shifts the same as they gave me, but asked them to lower the pedal sensitivity. The original 93PRX was just way too touchy; it gave you a more seat of the pants kick, but it was tough to regulate a...
A couple of simple ideas:
Hitch Weight: I assume this is all set, but keep the right amount of weight on the hitch. 10-15% of trailer weight should be on the hitch.
Hitch Drop: As mentioned, some people don't take the time to properly level the trailer.
Tire Pressure: The C-rated tires...
You’re exactly right concerning the Temporary Use sticker. It’s somewhere in the manual (sorry( not at home right now(, but it states the spare is identical to the other four with the exception of the TPMS module.
These worked very nicely for me:

I know it says for Ram, but it fit perfectly in the corner of my driver’s side mirror.
If you're interested in the parts:
Nilight 18w lights (pair): http://a.co/4K9qOeL $14 for the pair
Amber Lenses: http://a.co/hrtpnxc $7
Connectors: http://a.co/dZlSAVJ $8
Note that the amber lenses did NOT quite fit. I had to heat up the tangs with a heat gun and...
Here in East TN, I don't have the need for a permanent chase light solution. I also wanted to be able to have removable rear-facing white lighting for camping. I don't need an expensive set-up, and I wanted it to be removable. I ended up with a pair of lights that fit VERY snugly in my rear...
Mine did something similar last week. Noticed while washing it in the driveway. It was more electronic beeping than the whistle sound, but it was very regular for about 10 minutes. Could not localize it, but definitely under the hood. Didn’t think to record it. Only heard it that one time.
I recently received an updated set of tunes. I had asked MPT to lower the initial throttle response, as I kept breaking the rear tires loose when pulling out and turning onto the main road. Way too touchy. They told me they gave me a more linear throttle response.
The new tune is much better...
In case anyone else has this problem, I recently had an issue when switching tunes. Not sure exactly what happened as I’ve shifted tunes a dozen times before with no issues. I was shifting from stock to PRX93, and got an installation error. Truck was pretty much completely dead, with every light...
What year? On my 2017, I disabled remote tailgate operation here:
726-37-02 xxxx x*xx xxxx 5=enabled, 4=disabled
This disabled remote tailgate operation from the key fob. I haven’t tried it from the keypad.
Got it. Well then you can definitely adjust the sensitivity. If you know where they installed the module (should be somewhere above the brake pedal), you’ll find a small black knob. I have mine set to about mid range. Make an adjustment, then test it by setting he alarm and giving the driver...
I haven’t heard definitely, but the thought is that the RPM increase is not a problem, and is in fact a feature.
I can’t find it now, but one of the thoughts is that this might have been purposely included to assist the alternator. The thought was that the secure idle was originally for...
I’m not sure what year you guys have. My understanding is that the Secure Idle feature is enabled from the factory on the 2018s. On the 2017s, you can enable it in FORScan.
It is not thought to be a big deal. It is a noted feature of Secure Idle. Mine does it, not when I open the door, but...
Could be. The ones I'm familiar with use an inductive sensor that sees the wheel rotate past the sensor as it turns. There may be other ways of implementing this.
Hey, if anyone knows for sure, please chime in. I don't want to keep guessing; just letting you know what I'm familiar with...
Most sensors use tire rotation to “wake up” the sensor. They have a permanently installed, non-changeable battery. To save the battery, they power down after a certain amount of time. When the tire starts rotating, they power back up. When you go to the beach, you have probably driven there...
No, it won’t. TPMS sensors need the wheel to be actually moving to grab the pressure.
However, installing a TPMS sensor might allow you to include the spare in your tire rotation plan. Without the sensor, you’ll get a TPMS failure if you run the spare.
